This was an attempt at the ice speed record by a rocket powered snow machine called the arctic arrow. The old record was 247 mph. This is the sound of seagulls, ducks and other water birds competing with gigantic carp fish, and each other, for food on lake mead. It starts mellow and and grows into a full-blown frenzy with lots of calling, quacking, chirping, splashing, thrashing and slurping (from the fish). The hoover dam isn't far from this lake, so tourist helicopters occasionally pass by. I hope you all like it. :).

Recorded around midnight in mount saint francis woods in southern indiana on the kentucky border on a dr70r with shotgun mic. Not loopable as the wind picks up over time and is noticeable when you loop back to beginning. Light editing in reaper (eq down some wind sounds, splicing out distant traffic). Individual bullfrog chatter sounds also on profile.
