Big lightning happening in my hometown the evening of may 24th 2020. Went outside with a tascam dr-05 handheld recorded to try and get some thunderclaps, but unfortunately the rain and lightning were more prevalent than the thunder. Here and there i comment to myself about a particularly big flash, hoping it results in a big boom, but there aren't as many booms as i was hoping to capture in the time i had the recorder switched on.

A flash thunderstorm in queensland came about randomly in the afternoon and i thought it would be cool to recorded it. I recorded it under an awning since i didn't want to get the recorder wet and the awning was acting a little like a wind tunnel so there's these high pitch wind noises too. Plus thunder in the background. Was recorded on a zoom h5. With the limiter turned on. Forgot to turn it off since it was spur of the moment.

The thunder from a single bolt of lightning, recorded in johor bahru, malaysia mid-afternoon october 2022. It hadn't yet started raining when i recorded this. The recording device was the inbuilt stereo microphones of the zoom h5.

I tried ripping sound from a game and it came out as some code, but, i played around in audacity and came out with this. Enjoy =).

Recorded in ny at 4:20 pm with a sound devices mix pre-3 and an audio-technica bp4025 microphone (with a rode blimp windshield). One hour and 14 minutes of rain, howling thunder, and an occasional bird. The file was edited and lengthened using goldwave and audacity.

Regular and continuous rumbling thunder. I stood at my back door and recorded the storm as it rolled by. Recorded in my backyard with rode ntg-3 / dead wombat on zoom h6 recorder. Starts off with one decent short clap of thunder, but mostly rolling low rumble thunder and some rain here and there. Some of the rain drop sounds are sharp off of metal, some is just lightly hitting the ground. Some nearby trees blowing add to some of the ambiance.
