A light rain fall.

An early spring bird-recording trip turned into a surprise, steady rain. (*actually, it should not have been a surprise, i just was too lazy to check the weather before i went out exploring nature!). I set up my zoom h4n recorder partially under a picnic table and recorded this wonderful, peaceful light rain falling in a small field of very large white pines, which were growing on a penninsula of a small lake. Every now and then you will hear a bird singing out. Again, recorded using my handy zoom h4n recorder with the built-in stereo microphones. Enjoy. Kevin.

This are noises of a rain gutter during a rainfall. As this was recorded on my balkony there are strong reflections of the adjacent brick walls. Recording gear:- 2 x behringer c2 small diaphragm condenser microphones with cardioid polar pattern- focusrite scarlett 2i4 audio interfacesoftware:- sound forge pro.

I reorded this with an neumann shotgun under a plastic roof when raining during a typical sunday afternoon in the city.

There is a vent in my house that sounds fantastic when it rains. The drops hitting the tin cover sound almost like popping popcorn in this recording, but it's a more friendly sound in person. The rain outside is very much present in the background, but the bouncing raindrops are very easy to hear. Recorded on a windows x8 phone and left as-is. Created for the play 'exit the king' (wilbury group, 2011). A expressionistic storm, with walls crumbling down in slow motion. I made this by tearing wood and plastic apart and slowing down the sounds and adding percussion. The rain i recorded out my window.

The recording isn't exactly 100% clean of ambient noises (i believe there's a door slam somewhere). But i manage to remove a couple of the more distracting noises.

Recording of a thunderstorm rumbling overhead. The thunder echoes through the hills and is more or less continuous. A large clap of thunder does cause momentary clipping. After the heavy rain, bird calls can be heard.

A mild rain captured in my garden. There is a soft 'pling'-sound every now and then, caused by a raindrop falling on a metal watering can.

I created this using digital synthesizers. I lost the presets to this so i can't say exactly how it was created, but eventually i'll create a new version and describe the process. It's basically multiple layers of very grainy (like sparklers or vinyl) noise processed through filters modulated by some kind of noise.

This is the sound of burgers being cooked up on the stove. Not only does it sound like something being fried up, but it also sounds a bit like rainfall.
