This is a short clip from an intense thunderstorm, recorded from my second story queens apartment from an open bathroom window during the early afternoon of july 15, 2015. Some traffic and airplanes can be heard in the background. This clip was recorded using an apple iphone 6 and the zoom iq6 x/y stereo microphone with a rode dead kitten windscreen at low volume, normalized later. This recording lasts until the battery on my iphone hit 5%, at which point the zoom handy recorder app automatically stopped.

There are birds picking at seeds on a nearby rooftop, which can be heard before the rain. 2. The birds flutter away just before the rain. 3. The rain starts around the 10 minute mark. 4. Using a blue yeti usb condenser mic on the cardioid pattern, i made a 30-minute recording of sounds from my sink (drips, splashes, different faucet pressures) and cut them up into 60 files, later edited down to 20. These were layered together and mixed with white, pink, and brownian noise. Slight noise removal applied. Recorded basic mic noise, and used a subtractive processor (reafir in reaper) to remove that sound from the final mix. .

It was kind of a scary situation but for sound i thought it will be awesome! i opened the balcony door and rolled down the 30 years old window blind ( i have a sound of this blind here on the channel) behind the window blind i started recording how the rain hammered against the blind! you can also listen to the wind between the units on this blind! i also recorded with the go pro the outside so that you can see the thunder, the rain and the lightning!.

A pedestrian crossing in the inner city of stockholm/sweden, on the intersection of the mäster samuelsgatan and the drottinggatan. It is a rainy afternoon and there is a fair amount of pedestrian and automobile traffic underway. The recorder is on street level, pedestrians can be heard speaking swedish, german, russian and a variety of other languages. Near the end of the recording, a can rolls across the pavement near the crossing. Recorded with a zoom h2n. These are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording. Mics set to 120° dispersion.

I recorded a pretty gnarly storm on 8/25 around 1:30 am. The cars are off the road but you still get that city reflection. I placed two rode nt5s in my living room windows and set them to record for about nine minutes. It wouldn't be great for an outdoor situation but it's a good "thunderstorm from an apartment in the city" recording. It's in 16 44. 1, stereo. Use it for whatever you want, no credit needed. -jp.
