A collection of sounds of a magazine flipping through its pages and a heavy book slamming shut. Recorded using a blue yeti microphone at 16-bit 44100hz in audacity. Used audacity's noise removal filter to to remove background noise. For this file, i isolated the samples i liked and left a small gap of silence between them for separation later. Attribution appreciated but not required.

Recorded with tascam dr-07mkii. While on holiday staying in a country cottage near some cow fields, there was a mother cow and what must have been her 2 calves which had been put into separate fields either side of a road. This was obviously pretty distressing for the cows and so they were constantly mooing at each other and being the kind of guy i am, of course i recorded it!. I have done as much as i can to reduce wind and other background noises (the windshield i have for my dr-07 doesn't seem to do a lot except make it look like it's got a 70s afro) and have trimmed all the cow sounds out and put them together into this one file. Some are better than others, it was hard to know which cow was gonna make a noise next. Free to use for anything, if you use it, would be cool if you let us know where in the comments, be interesting to see where they end up :).

The "annoying" speed chime, turned world famous drift hero by initial d; as it was intended to be heard by the toyota motor corporation. A common issue with these chimes is that the second impact is muted by the impact rod, this was mitigated in this file by holding the chime with a specific side up. This is marked by the second bell properly ringing out after the second impact. This rendition is a pre-timed, loopable, clean version of the chime, recorded from a real imported 86640-12070 "king kong" (kin-kon) chime. This is a collection of "small room reverb" impulse responses that i sampled in a new england home known as butternut lodge, built and owned by actress bette davis back in 1940. It consists of all wooden rooms with many non-parallel surfaces, rugs and furniture and includes 3 round-shaped "silo" rooms! these rooms sound clean and do not have the irritating "ping" of many rectangular rooms. Although these round shapes (and some of the other very small rooms) could potentially wreak havoc with phase at specific frequencies when summed to mono, i recorded this using the mid/side mic technique; therefore, the "side" channels fully cancel out, leaving a clean monaural reverb signal. These irs are stored as flac files. They can be used directly by any daw without conversion and have the added feature of being id3 tagged with a photo of the room each ir is taken from. After downloading, select view -> large icons in the folder to view the rooms. I sampled each room using a swept sine wave into a jbl flip 6 bluetooth speaker; recorded through a tascam tm-st1 m/s stereo microphone, feeding a tascam dr-07 recorder @ 24-bits 44. 1 khz and deconvolved using reaper. As of this post, i've been using these rooms for about 2 weeks. So far, i've found the "garage" to sound fantastic on drums! the drum sound! also, many of the other smaller rooms have a great effect on guitars, keys, and hand percussion. Each room varies in tone and brightness, so i've found that selecting/tuning the reverb send works well if approached like an eq. Increase the effect send until the instrument "feels" right (then perhaps back off slightly). A close-miked acoustic guitar, for instance, will take on a nice brightness and 3-d quality; not particularly reverberant, just big. At that point, i recommend applying any eq, compression, and bigger-sounding reverb effects. Hopefully you enjoy this. Please let me know how you like it and if you have any suggestions. Cheers!. From 1:00-2:00in the sky a long way behind me and to the left, but somewhat far in the air, a group of birds are fighting above a large group of trees that are shaped like a ball of veins. Most of the birds are crows, or just black birds; each noise they make is a series of “caws” no different from each other in pitch, tone, or frequency. There's also the sound of 3 small birds directly to my right around 5 meters away from me, making loud but shrill chirping sounds. The birds are each the same size but and are hopping around the perimeter of a cactus right behind them. The wind blows onto the right side of my body and the front of my body. Waves from the ocean are crashing directly behind me, each in long sessions. The way they sound is consistent, like the sound of rain. Occasionally one of the waves will crash, increasing in volume but not in pitch or tone.

Where we live the fireworks laws are pretty lax so people go crazy with them. Here is a recording from the day before independence day (yesterday) as people were blowing up part of their arsenal ahead of time. In a few hours i will be recording as things get really crazy. Our neighbors on three sides will light off the thousands of dollars of fireworks that they have purchased. Many of them are illegal (purchased from indian reservations) so there will be some big booms. Back to this recording. It is recorded with my "fake head" binaural setup, hanging from a tripod at the crest of the garage roof. There is a tree a few feet away and a light breeze is rustling the leaves. Here is a bit of a timeline:. 0:00 kids across the street light off a few fireworks4:05 the neighbors across the street were having a party, and the guests begin to leave. 6:30 the guest of honor honks and yells "love you" as she drives away. 8:00 the kids across the street go inside. Now all you hear are fireworks in the distance, all over town. 32:17 someone lights what must be a million firecrackers. They continue until 51:20 - 19 minutes!!!.

This sound effect was captured by me on video on my canon digital powershot a460 camera, i stood just above the motorway at charing cross glasgow scotland and captured this sound from the jam packed motorway, both sides were busy, i even caught the sound of a police car coming along the hard shoulder. I simply took the sound from my video. One friday night, me and my partner were eating dinner, and we both heard a click. She perks up, "what was that?" and i said "the dryer is running, probably something in it" and she goes "no it was inside" (our dryer is like a back door outside porch kinda deal). I noticed it came from inside as well, in the kitchen, but mentally shrugged it off because lasagna. But now i know she heard it inside too, so i walk in the kitchen where the sound came from and don't see anything moving or on. I took note of where my cats were in case anything was being chewed on: one in bed, one on the couch, they aren't chewing on anything or are even near the clicking sound, so back to dinner. About 45 minutes later, dinner is wrapped up, my partner is asleep and i start turning off all the lights. When i turn the kitchen lights off, there is a light that stays on in the corner. I have a car battery recharger there: it has usb ports in case ya lose power, charger cables, and a flashlight attached on the side. . . . Which is on. I turn it off: exact same click that i heard earlier. Do i have a ghost?.
