For this recording, i was sitting in my car under a large tree. With a rain storm having just passed, the tree was dripping large droplets, creating a consistent rhythm as they hit the roof of the car. This was recorded using a tascam dr-05x in june, 2020.

These are two separate recordings with my yamaha pocketrak of a single robin and you can hear the other robin answering in the distance. You will also hear faint conversations and laughter of students as they walk to class, faint sounds from a nearby construction site, distant rumble of traffic, the distant droning of an airplane lazily floating through the april sky. From time to time you will also hear the well known "beep. . . Beep. . . . . Beep. . . . " of a piece of heavy equipment backing up. However, despite all of the dominating background of man and his machines, nature comes through. The room was perfectly tempered and acoustically treated, and people were talking at a relatively normal level without echo or reverberation. It was too good to pass up recording it. At first, there are people talking near by, but towards the end, i am further back and the group chatter effect can be noticed in whole.

Whilst sitting outside a starbucks in hollywood, ca, i took notice of a man talking/arguing to a half-empty bottle of coca-cola. What ensued was about 26 minutes of stream-of-consciousness homeless speak. Some of the more coherent passages were about gambling debts in reno, nv. A mildly rude, but mostly noisy classroom, with the occasional (controversal) insult, and chattering. The teacher tries to teach the lesson, but struggles with trying to project her voice louder than the class. Eventually, the teacher has repeated twice for the class to calm down, and then the class calms down. May be loop-able with some mild editing in audacity.

An interesting recording of birds, led by blue jays, doing their alarm calls. I was in the middle of the woods when i noticed that the birds seemed to be alarmed like there was a predator nearby and sure enough, i finally spotted a big barred owl sitting high in a tree about 50 yards from my recorder. Pretty amazing how the bird community sounds the alarm.

Fire alarm as used in sunderland royal hospital. This damn thing was tested over a dozen times, whilst i was sitting in the urology department waiting to have the p***taken out of me. I happened to be testing the voice recording capabilities of my sansa clip zip mp3 player, at the time. I'll think you'll agree this is exceptional quality for such a tiny microphone and only minimal background noise removal.

Wrote/recorded a clean guitar, simple bass, simple drum loops at 130-bpm.
