I believe this was recorded with a sound devices 702 and a neumann rsm 191 stereo shotgun in a concrete stairwell. You can hear the rain hitting the stairs and going down the drain. It's also hitting some junk at the top of the stairs. There are big thunder claps and more distant rumbles.

This is from the 24th may 2016 morning thunderstorms over pécel, hungary recorded at 7am using my sony icd-ux512 stereo dictaphone.

Central texas thunderstorm with some very loud thunder! some sounds of cars driving by, birds, and tree branches hitting the roof. Unedited, raw audio. Unfortunately, i think my cat meowed a couple times.

Ambisonic test recording made with a sennheiser ambeo mic into a sound devices mixpre 6 ii. Recorded in 32bit float. Mic position was 'endfire'. Not too much action but it gives a good idea of how a quiet ambiences sound in ambisonic. You will need the sennheiser ambeo plugin in order to convert this recording into b-format.

Several cracks of thunder, with a long booming echo. Recorded with sony pcmd100 on early saturday morning, january 11th 2020. The temperature during this round on wind-driven rain was 56 degrees. Still feels strange to have march weather in january.

The air con unit in our office regularly begins to howl like a storm wind. It was pretty difficult to capture. . . Had to come in early and setup a tascam dr-07 and let it run until the air starts to swirl and makes the noise!.

Thunderstorm developed over pécel on 6th august 2014 and produced about 5-6 mms of rain with heavy rainfall (large raindrops). This only one-thunder thunderstorm was recorded by my sony stereo dictaphone.

July 2013, rcording from setup pc in greenhouse. Extreme rain changing to hail (25 mm diamter)for a couple of minutes, then rain again. Last bit of recording is sound from pc fan. Did not cut it off, wanted to let listeners understand that i made a temporary installation in the greenhouse for capturing the immense noise.

Wind noise, made from several segments of white noise with different eq and flange settings, cross-faded to form one long loop. This is a short clip from an intense thunderstorm, recorded from my second story queens apartment from an open bathroom window during the early afternoon of july 15, 2015. Some traffic and airplanes can be heard in the background. This clip was recorded using an apple iphone 6 and the zoom iq6 x/y stereo microphone with a rode dead kitten windscreen at low volume, normalized later. This recording lasts until the battery on my iphone hit 5%, at which point the zoom handy recorder app automatically stopped.

Opening a window just in time to record lightning strikes and a swell of rain. Recorded around midnight in the greater farmington valley area. Done on a tascam linear pcm recorder.

Severe thunderstorm arrived to pécel, hungary after the hot days on 8th of july 2015. It produced 15 mm of very intense rain and wind, and some lightning.

On 8th of june 2013 thunderstorms developed above pécel, small town in hungary in the afternoon. The greatest part is recorded by my sony stereo dictaphone. Unfortunately some of my neighbours were talking too and can be heard in the recording.

Mic is closer to the ground: small hail falling outside in the back yard, mixed with rain drops. Recorded with zoom h5's internal xy mics.

This is a recording i made at the front of my house after a storm. I used a pair of akg c1000's going in to my mixpre6 in ortf configuration about 15 metres from the sound source. Recorded in suburban melbourne australia.
