This is a knife i use often at my workplace cutting different materials. It’s called an ofla knife- they’re pretty small and can retract and come back out again with a drag of a switch. This is me dragging that switch up and down, slowly for each individual tick and then all at once. I know in this recording the background isn’t completely silent, i’ll try to reupload a recording when it is at some point.

A strong wind was blowing through the window and under the door. This created a mystic and weird sound. I added some reverb to it and now its a huge horror cave, where the wind is creating a frightening atmosphere.

Some birds (i think a bunch of crows and a hawk) fighting in a tree near my house. Recorded with a zoom h4n at 96/24. Birds were about 30 feet up in the tee and i was on the ground another 30 feet away. Some light traffic and airplane sounds low in the mix.

Fortunately i don't live nearby, but not far from home there is a factory that manufactures motorhomes, that's the atmosphere, made of machines, hammer noise blowers and all kinds of activity.

I recorded this using my small sony cybershot camera. You'll notice that the wind goes from loud to soft to loud again, repeating. This because i am opening the window wide and then after a few seconds i close the window but not completely so that i get some low whistling sounds from the wind. I recorded for 18 minutes and i used audacity to edit it. Hope this sound is useful for you!.

Although there are a lot of birds in the forests at this time of year, they were quiet today. This is a very quick and dirty lo-fi recording of a very unsettling noise i am currently hearing outside of my 2nd story bedroom window. I have no clue what it could be. I have lived here for over a decade and never heard this sound. It's like wind, but it keeps fading in and disappearing again. When it starts, it sounding like very rapid, almost whistling, shallow breathing. I can't imagine what is making this sound, but it's pretty unnerving, and i'm too creeped out to open the curtains. I'm hoping someone can recognize this and tell me what this is because i'm starting to get very uncomfortable after about 10 minutes of hearing this on and off again. I am attempting to record it as it happens, so i've got several recorded instances of this if you want to hear more of it.
