Springtime in greenacres, washington. The birds are singing loudly, the wind is blowing, traffic can be heard in the distance, and an airplane flies overhead. Also heard is a distant train horn, a next door rooster, and a distant horn signalling break time at the paper mill.

This is a short clip from an intense thunderstorm, recorded from my second story queens apartment from an open bathroom window during the early afternoon of july 15, 2015. Some traffic and airplanes can be heard in the background. This clip was recorded using an apple iphone 6 and the zoom iq6 x/y stereo microphone with a rode dead kitten windscreen at low volume, normalized later. This recording lasts until the battery on my iphone hit 5%, at which point the zoom handy recorder app automatically stopped.

There are birds picking at seeds on a nearby rooftop, which can be heard before the rain. 2. The birds flutter away just before the rain. 3. The rain starts around the 10 minute mark. 4. It was kind of a scary situation but for sound i thought it will be awesome! i opened the balcony door and rolled down the 30 years old window blind ( i have a sound of this blind here on the channel) behind the window blind i started recording how the rain hammered against the blind! you can also listen to the wind between the units on this blind! i also recorded with the go pro the outside so that you can see the thunder, the rain and the lightning!.
