Just a quick recording before class today. Recorded from a tascam dr-07 mk ii stereo in mp3 192 kbps 48,000 hz, pointed a bit to the sky toward a florida mockingbird about 2 meters away. If you listen closely enough, there's some crows in the bg too. Ambiance sound is the sound of a busy divided highway about 500 meters away. I processed this sound in sony sound forge a bit to remove some of it. Just beware, the sound file contains a slight camera double beep at 9 and 15 seconds, although for student film purposes i don't see any penalty for it. Here's a vocal sample of "hydrochloric acid" ran through audioterm and sent to a waldorf blofeld as a wavetable. The blofeld pitches up and then scans the wavetable (via mod wheel, so it's fun), which plays out what you hear here, plus a fair bit of outboard verb. Sounds like a vocoder but it's not. As opposed to traditional samplers the pitch is independent of the playback rate / length of the sample.

I've recorded this with movies or games in mind. It's 1-minute long, can be easily looped by a simple crossfade. Check the pack for different "angles" and "views". Recorded with hand-held zoom h2's rear xy mics @ 96khz/24-bits. Converted to flac using audacity.

This is a slightly edited and normalised iphone recording of a lyrebird's performance at healesville sanctuary in victoria, australia and shows the range of sounds they can imitate. Among other copied bird calls you can hear a camera shutter and other harder to pick sounds that sound a little bit like lasers. It's pretty amazing what they can do!.

This was in our backyard and i have no idea why the birds were doing this. I couldn't see them in the thick bushes and i couldn't tell how many there were. They just went on and on and i never heard them like this before except for maybe one or two squawking away at times. A bit of wind came up and a few background noises. Recorded on my yamaha pocketrak and edited in sony sound forge. Please comment on what you will use it for. :^).

The feeding of two hungry cats. Early sounds include tinkling of crunchy food falling into a near bowl and a more distant one, and the munching sounds of a purring cat. Then the snap of the top of the feeding container, and closure of a cabinet door. Two cats (bowmore and munro) the former near and the latter further away then transition to eating wet food. This is around 10 minutes of a hand drum groove at 113 bpm, but there are many little random variations, so you can chop it up and loop just the bits you like, or let the little drum section play as you tie up your man bun, kick your hackey sack and shake your money maker around the drum circle.

Field recording of waves breaking on felixstowe beach in suffolk, england. Recorded using a stereo microphone and zoom h4 recorder close to the water to try and capture the spray from the waves. Wind shield was used but a little bit of wind exists on the recording with a hpf used to minimise rumble.

A night-time birdsong. A simple single bird singing at night. Recorded in the fields above my home at night. A mid-sized waterfall flowing into a gentle stream. This is near the road by the grand prismatic spring in yellowstone. The timbre of this smaller fall is higher than the roar of the large waterfall. And you can just make out the gurgling of the stream. But, in general, this kind of thing sounds a bit like static. Sorry it's so short, there was a lot of wind and people talking. I foudd this frequency, between 4450 and 4475 khz whilst going through channels on radiosdr. Org. It sounds a bit like a printer and then lower down sounds like a laser. Sorry for the sound of me pressing the keyboard, my laptop has an internal microphone so this was picked up.

I've encountered fantasicly squeaky screws when putting together an mdf cabinet. The screws were driven with a scredriver into pre-puchend holes in an mdf panel. Recorded with zoom h1 at 96khz / 24-bit. Converted to flac using sox. No processing or editing was performed for maximum flexibility nad retaiging highest quality. Also out of laziness. Enjoy!.

Passed 1:05 is where you can start hearing a bit of the woman. Passed 1:55 is where the woman gives out some louder moans. The sex noises is from 1:05-4:37. This was edit and shorten with audacity.

This is static actually coming from my radio but its plugged into the same cord as my tv & they are very close together. So it's actually interference. Also the proximity of my phone gives more sound (ringy static). That really awesome modulating sound is the moment between clicking the on button & the picture coming on the screen. 2nd try was better after i adjusted the tuner a bit.

I'm trying to create an intense plasma burst for a project i'm working on, and i found two great sounds from users chipfork (https://freesound. A sound of a tightening wrench (a bike repair kit) being spun around to produce its distinct ratchet like sounds. Foley fun: put to 25% of its rate and you get convincing metallic gear sounds, apply a tiny bit of reverb, maybe layer it with some screeching sounds from other users (or me, your choice) or a slow gate shutter to get a nice mechanical door opening sample.

Rummaging through boxes with plastic bags, shoes and assorted styrofoam objects inside. I used 3 largish boxes and rummaged through them, making rustling, scraping and plastic noises, as well as through them around a bit to make it sound like someone searching through boxes. Use without having to give credit, but i would love a comment saying where you used this, and a link to the content if possible!.

Capoeira mestre calango was nice enough to do a couple of short recordings on the berimbau for me. A berimbau is a one stringed instrument with the string made from the inside liner of a truck tire, it has a claxia(sp?) a shaker with it and is modulated by placing the gourd against the stomach and removing it. Done with hdp2 and two sennheiser mics 66 67, was in 24 bit 96khz, downconverted to 16b at 44. 1, a relatively clean recording at a very high level.

Through an harmonic model, the low brass section have been separated of the trumpets and then a series of harmonic (harmonizer) transformations have been done in order to include a major third and a perfect fifth in the f0 = a2 harmonic serie. The a tuning is a little bit down from 110hz (~106-107hz).

This is a sound i made in audacity by recording myself going "vvvvvvvvvvvvvv. . . " on two separate tracks and slowing them both down by 95% and adding a little bit of reverb. I asked him to load the dishwasher, and he actually did, except that he washed the dishes by hand and used the dishwasher for a drying rack. I didn't ask him to record it for me, so maybe he's trying to change the subject. Bully for him. Great file, might be diminished in volume quite a bit and used as a background in a diner or restaurant kitchen. This is the way men wash dishes, and it explains why many of mine are chipped.

Recorded about 5:00 in the morning in the backyard of a small town using my zoom h4n recorder and the internal microphones.
