You twist the handle on the outside that rotates a double sided hammer onto the bell on the other side of the door. I could not find a recording when i looked. I initially made two recordings, i will likely make more later. This is a modern "cheap" recreation doorbell, as they are hard to find these days. I know some people with the genuine article on their home doors however i never get around to recording them. Recording done in theatre.

This is a field recording from inside the "experience gallery" of the musical instrument museum (phoenix, arizona). The experience gallery is full of gongs, bells, drums, gamelan instruments, stringed instruments, marimbas, xylophones, and even a theremin. A schoolgroup of children were let loose at the time of this recording. Recorded in stereo with a sony pcm-d50 (onboard mics, wide pattern) while in motion.

First track made with renoise sequencing hardware. Drums are from yamaha rx11v. Fun lil jam.

Wrote/recorded a free chill tune that used the chimes at 120bpm using ableton live 9 stock plugins:chimes and bowlight and shadow. This was recorded in the interior of a truck stop, somewhere on the road in oklahoma. General store ambiance can be heard throughout, but the real highlight is the electronic door chime that seems to happen intermittently, when someone enters or exits the store.

Recorded on the san francisco side of alcatraz island, 08/25/2015. Recorder was placed on the railing on the back side of the yard above the staircase. A clear day, with plenty of water birds and gulls. Some tourists speaking various languages throughout. . . Some asking about the 'microphone'. This recording also catches the sf noon siren and a sea plane flying toward the end. My windjammer wasn't quite enough for the wind, so there's some rumble, but it can be cleaned up. Recorded with a tascam dr-70d, built in mics. Free to use, but let me know where it ends up!.

Bells ring to mark the start of evening mass at notre-dame cathedral (notre dame de paris) in paris, france on christmas day in 2011. The first bell heard is the largest, the "emmanuel" bourdon bell, which weighs 13 tons. After 90 seconds or so, the other bells in the north tower start to ring as well. After several minutes of continuous ringing, the bells are allowed to slowly stop ringing. A few soft clicking noises right at the start of the recording come from me adjusting the recording level (which i couldn't do until the bells started to ring). Mp3 from 96 khz / 24-bit / stereorecorded with zoom h4n built-in mics hand-held, about 100 feet southwest of the south tower (the one with the big bell).

An eerie background sound that can be used for something like a churchyard cemetery scene. Used audacity to process voices and several synthetic ring modulated bell sounds.

My grandma recently gifted me a music box that was given to her by her mother, but it unfortunately doesn't work right anymore. This was all recorded in enumclaw, wa on july 4th, 2013. I used a yamaha pocketrak recorder throughout the day and into evening when the fireworks started. There's an old piano outside the music store and i just caught the end of a young guy playing some nice music. I then just walked down the street recording the sounds. You can hear me talking to a guy who's working for a local politician. The b-25 mitchell bomber flyover was totally unexpected and i was lucky to have had the recorder going. It made two passes right over me and i love the sounds of those engines. It was a great day. Please comment on what you will use it for. Thanks. :^).
