Some 300 chickens, along with 2 pigs and some geese are going about their business, a farmhand can be heard filling a water trough at the beginning. Here is a recording i made of a pig at hackney city farm. It was recorded about 4 years ago on a zoom h2. Unfortunately there are some people in the background but there are also some clean grunts and breathing. Enjoy!.

I was wearing a flat cap so the sheep thought i was the farmer and raced down the hill towards me, expecting to be fed. They were disappointed. It was early may and the air was still and clear. You can make out the echoes from the steep hill behind them.

A summer field near a big lake in july, at dusk using zoom h4n recorder with built-in stereo mics. You can hear a quick fly buzz at 33 seconds in. You will also hear a boat in the distance towards the end. Great to enjoy with good headphones on.

Once a year, the farmers go in line through the fields and the forest, screaming and whistling, in order to send the sheep to the corner of the field, and take them to the farm for the sheep's shave. They can't see each other but can recognize themselves with their specific screams and keep in line. The hens slowly realize the reality of their situation and return to their scavenging. You produce a deep clucking bellow -- one last attempt to reach them. But it's too late, the hens pay you no mind. It is time to go.
