I recorded this from a balcony (5th floor) in the middle of a summer day (end of july), using a mid/side set (mkh30 + c480 b-uls/ck62-df omni) into sound devices mixpre3. Not any processing has been added, except a plain m/s to x/y stereo conversion and low-cut filter (30hz). This is a generally quiet atmo, sometimes light wind comes in, some seagulls and other birds are there at times, some construction work happens etc. The traffic noise is present, but in the distant way. Feel free to use it in any of your productions. Not for resale.

A stereo recording made at 4:50pm on saturday september 12th 2015 of the ambience of a small town near a playground. Up until this day, the weather here in the midwest had been your typical high-heat high-humidity. But, the day before this field-recording was made the wonderful jet-stream had dropped down on us, a cool, mass of less-humid canadian air, making the leaves sing through the trees with the lifting of the northwest breezes. A gentle tinkling wind-chime can be heard from 1:05 to 1:20. Recording made in stereo with marantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me66 microphones mounted on tripods about 4 feet off the ground.

I was standing in the middle of the newport southbank bridge facing the daniel carter beard bridge. You can hear cincinnati on the left and newport on the right while traffic pans from left and right in the stereo image. This is 4 and a half minutes of background noise from a new york city diner, including people talking, clanging plates and glasses and forks and knives and cups being cleared away by staff. Crucially, no music is playing. This means you can either use this clean, or layer in your own rights-cleared music if you're using this in a film or whatever. Recorded in 2016 with an iphone — don't let the recording device scare you, it sounds pretty good and certainly fine for this kind of background noise. Use it in any way you like for any purpose.
