This is a soundwalk i took at the monterey bay aquarium in central california from the outer bay exhibit through the wave tunnel (pausing for a single wave to crash) and then out the door and over to the balcony railing overlooking the ocean.
Hear the sound of the waves of sea, as they hit the rocks of beach. Its a cold winter, and that sound of sea bring in mind the most obscured - deepest cold beach.
A massive feedback sound by putting tons of delay, reverb, distortion and more weirdness on some sample. Made in ableton live 7, with freeware vst plug-ins: crazyivan and ambience.

Ocean waves at point reyes. Edited as a loop with no enhancement. Using a sony mz-rh1 minidisc recorder with unmodified panasonic wm-61 electret condenser microphone capsules. The left and right omnidirectional capsules are separately mounted in lavalier housings that allow independent placement when recording.

Recorded with tascam dr-05 plus diy deadcat (and the kitten works as you can hear. . . ). So here we go as an mp3 (neil young would say we´ve only get five percent). On deck aboard a baltic sea car ferry bound from rostock/germany to trelleborg/sweden. It is late evening, and the ferry is cruising clear of the harbor into the open sea. The recording features the ambient noise on deck, mainly the drone of the ship and it's diesels, some sea in the background, and the occasional door opening and closing. Recorded with a zoom h2n. These are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording. Mics set to 120° dispersion.

I do state the location and date at the very end - so be sure to clip it if you use this! there are no other sounds like cars, people, or airplanes. Just surf breaking on the rocks!.
