The soft peeps of the few remining birds, grubbing around for protein-packed insects is the soundtrack. At 5 minutes into this recording a delightful, friendly exchange between two birds as if they are saying "hey, let's help each other find food before this field is blanketed with snow at cold. ". At 7:05 in this recording a truck slowly drives by, softly crunching gravel and the driver slows down to witness this annual, melancholy autumnal change. This was recorded at the edge of a field, so it's literally a field recording. It's summer, there has been some rain but now it has stopped and the sun is out. A lark is singing its heart out. There is some wind noise which i've reduced with eq and noise removal using audacity, also some traffic noise from the road some way to my right (hard to get away from traffic noise). Recorded with a zoom h1 using the in-built microphones.

While on holiday staying in a country cottage near some cow fields, there was a mother cow and what must have been her 2 calves which had been put into separate fields either side of a road. This was obviously pretty distressing for the cows and so they were constantly mooing at each other and being the kind of guy i am, of course i recorded it!. I have done as much as i can to reduce wind and other background noises (the windshield i have for my dr-07 doesn't seem to do a lot except make it look like it's got a 70s afro) and have trimmed all the cow sounds out and put them together into this one file. Some are better than others, it was hard to know which cow was gonna make a noise next.
