This is a single cricket next to my building in williamsburg brooklyn, nyc. This was recorded at night with some ambient traffic sound. Loud, clear cricket sound. Recorded with shure mv88 in mid-side, converted to stereo. Cricket is slightly off center to the l side.

An obnoxious black crow calls as traffic passes and wind blows through the fall leaves. The leaves clatter on the pavement and a second type of bird with a higher pitch call joins the party, then another.

A side street in a city with a little bit traffic. Atmo was needed for a short animation movie and it was recorded with a large diaphragm condenser microphone which is not usual but it was needed quick.

My wife and i just recently moved to east los angeles, and the sounds are new and wonderful. Lots of chickens, no more automatic sprinklers, and lots of early riser heading off to work. In this sound i am leaving the office, opening a set of doors and walking outside to the sound of rush-hour traffic going by. You can hear the sound change from the reception area indoors to the loud outdoor sound of traffic. This was recorded in-person with a tascam dr-40 stereo recorder.
