The sounds from an old elevator. First going up, the door opening, and it returning back down before the door opens again. This elevator is fairly old (from the 1960s) and is fairly dilapidated. Scary to ride, especially after you hear the sounds it makes.
A few lines from a one string phono fiddle. It is a very rare old instrument seldom found today. It is a single metal string, played with a horsehair bow. The sound is picked up through a phonogram diapraghm and then amplified through a brass horn. This is free for anyone to use as they wish.

Early morning, crossing the bay of biscay in a force ten gale, the whole cabin (high up in the ship) creates a symphony of sounds. Engine noise in the background, plus a cacophony of different stresses on the woodwork and fittings of the cabin.

This is a 625hz active sonar ping, the type used for long range low resolution seafloor imaging or anti sumbarineuses. Note: this is an actual sonar ping, but of a type very rarelyused today. Most active sonar, especially anti submarine sonar, is14khz and up making it very difficult to hear.
The sound of an airmoth 948 starting up. It's part of project airmoth, an attempt to create the sound of a fictional aircraft, the airmoth series. Starts with inertia starter, ,engines start and in a bit, it takes off. Made with generated (labchirp) and real sounds.

I used a recording app on my samsung galaxy 3 phone to capture a caged parrot talking to itself, outside of a local restaurant. Unfortunately there was also a couple talking - but the parrot is loud and distinctive. A little wind noise. Cleaned up in audacity. And i have no idea what the parrot was saying!.

Passenger train interior, lightly loaded, seated near the coupling end. Train slows from full speed, stops at a station, then continues back up to full speed. A few incoherent conversations and one station announcement. Recorded on chicago metra 2022.
I recorded this in my backyard at dusk in july of 2010. As night falls, the cicadas start up, the birds die off, and you can hear owls if you listen closely enough. Also a few sounds of traffic and briefly can hear the neighbor kids.

A normal sized orange balloon was blown up and then blown down by holding the bottom of the balloon very tightly so that minimum air can come out, resulting in the very high pitched screaming sound. A zoom h6 recorder was used, with the xy capsule, in a normal room.

Timpano, 71 cm diameter, tuned approximately to g. Several hits, from very soft to very loud. Played with a yarn mallet, directly in the center of the drum head. Samples are a little 'cleaned up' (noise reduction, silence removed, etc. ) but otherwise unprocessed.
The same bonnie file but this time run through rx's spectral denoise to clean it up a bit. A little bird noise is still audible between the clicks, but pulling samples from it should be much cleaner and easier to isolate. Enjoy.
