This is a field recording of a late night ambience in a suburban area in india. A variety of insects, predominantly crickets can be heard along with distant dogs and traffic. This high resolution clip has been cleaned to eliminate lf hum and other intermittent loud noises.

The audio was recorded for a class assignment, during the evening in iowa city. Mostly comprised of very soft background crickets and gentle traffic noises; there are also a few interesting sounds such as radio from passing cars.

Quiet urban residential area in tokyo at about 2 am in the late summer (october, i think). You can hear far off traffic, some night insects and a drunk guy who came to close to my hidden mics to take a whiz. Excluding the peeing guy, quiet parts are perfect for looping (for ambient background sounds in video or audio works). The peeing guy might actually be useful, so i didn't cut it out. Faithfully recorded with a stereo mic pair placed at a 90 degree angle. The left-right balance was adjusted and the stereo field was expanded later to fix the lopsided sided flatness of the original recording. Other than that, the recording is unprocessed.

This recording was made alongside a camera trap survey while at loagan bunut national park in sarawak, malaysia. It's a quite nice little bit that we didn't expect to ever find a use for, but came across this website and through i would share it. It lasts a good long time with pretty consistent sounds, so best wishes on it's use. This is a recording of the great outdoors. Some critters sang a song for me after a performance at an outdoor theater in wisconsin.

A classic movie punch sound recreated by hitting a leather car seat with a cricket bat. Recorded using a rode k2 tube mic and a schoeps cmc6, driving the preamps hard and compressing the input, then heavily compressing a number of takes using analog-emulation plugins (including a fairchild 660) and running the mix through waves maxxbass. Then limiting some more and finally adding the swoosh of a riding crop and a non-linear reverb noise tail.

Evening crickets chirping. Relatively thin, early evening ambience. Repeated trill of one particular cricket dominates. Some wind noise.
