A fairly harsh and slightly clipped sample of foley artistry to create a heavy "shockwaving" impact. You may notice that this is the layering sound of skewer slam.

I recorded my sai to get a variety of metal impacts, tones, rings, clangs and scrapes. Used my zoomh5 at 48khz, 24bit.

Cinematic impact. Dark, distorted, large, powerful. Original samples made using an acoustic guitar as a resonator for an electric bass, and recorded using a zoom h4n. Processing includes layering, reversing, amp simulation, distortion, delay and reverb. Recorded for my personal a sound a day challenge (asoada).

Bi-drum finale. This sound provides an impact point, an action conclusion suggestion. I combined two drum sound samples, one of the impact with a deep echo, and one a hollow wood tube strike against a hard object to a certain rhythm. The sound is somewhat like the primal drum sounds used in survivor. I used magix music maker, magix software gmbh (www. Magix. Com) with two object plug-ins; solar wood 6_ogg_001. Here's one from a series of 'clang' sounds, great for impact moments in trailers & commercials, or to layer up with other sounds. They are somewhat high-pitch, so they might mix well with low frequency drums and impact sounds. Recorded with tascam dr-40 built-in-mics, by hitting a railing with a pipe in a stairwell and adding a little bit more reverb in daw.
