To create this sound i recorded myself opening a can of coke in my bedroom. To record, i used my aston spirit microphone on cardioid polar pattern and my focusrite scarlett 18i20 second generation (2nd gen) interface running pro tools from my mac at 48khz, 24 bit. I also used a reflection filter to lower rt60 so this sound has minimal reverb to tape. The cable i used was made of canford hst cable and has neutrik xlr connectors.

I just clicked my tongue for this one. It sort of sounds like something is being put together.

This file was recorded on november 19 2013 at london's euston railway station quite close to the arrivals board. It was achieved using an olympus ls-100 digital recorder with cad m179 microphones attached to a jecklin disk (see wikipedia) to obtain the best sound possible. As opposed to quasi-binaural recordings where the user attaches small diaphragm microphones to his/her shirt collar (my usual recording method), the jecklin disk can be mounted on a semi-fixed object such as a floor-standing microphone stand which it was in this case, and left for a few moments for the best possible outcome. Using a jecklin disk means that there are no minute movements from a person trying to stand as still as possible, and for some unknown reason, this setup is able to differentiate in front and behind sound image although i personally do not know why this is the case.

I´ve recorded this sound produced by a large water wheel of 4 meters diameter, in the historical part of augsburg bavaria, part of town where early industry and work shops used water energy for different purposes. This water wheel does not drive any gear any more, it is just for to give an impression of that old water driven industry. The wheel is driven by one of many former industry channels, small rivers through that part of town.

While trying to get my microphone to work, it was having this unusual feed back buzzing pulsing sounds. Along with a strange noise. (this wasn't my voice, and the file hasn't been edited. ). "who's there?" and the "hello's" are of course me, trying to get the microphone to work. I decided to record it after i felt it was strange. A very weird sound i stretched and manipulated of my computer mic giving off some kind of feedback. I thought it might be cool as a spaceship or sci-fi sound effect.

I mounted the mic inside and on top of the car and drove trough the city, recording some ambulance, traffic, and a scooter that was tooting, later i turned of engine, opened and closed the car door and startet the engine, maybe you find it useful, let me know :).
