A folie i recorded for a short students movie i edited in 2011. I recorded these water drips with the zoom n4's built -in microphones and it worked great for me, so i decided to upload it. Enjoy.
Drip coffee without sugar recorded with internal zoom h1 mics @ 44. 1k 24 bit. . . Leveled and normalized and dc removed in reaper with various vst's. Rendered @ 44. 1k 16 bit with dither and noise shaping probably not needed. . . Then encoded to flac level 6 with dbpoweramp and uploaded.
A sink being turned on and off with water pouring out of it for a few seconds then going down the drain. Recorded with zoom h1n. Running water into a bathtub. The faucet is audibly turned on and off at the beginning and end. The temperature of the water is tested at several intervals resulting in some variation to the water sound. Individual drips can be heard after the water is turned off. Take 2 of 2. Braun model 3105 coffee maker. Multiple takes of picking up and replacing the glass carafe on the hotplate. The left channel is a sennheiser mkh-416 and the right channel is an akg c414 b-uls, both into a john hardy m-1 preamp into pro tools. Each mic has a slightly different recording position. The akg has more of a "room" perspective whereas the sennheiser gives a close up, detailed perspective.
A long loop of rain, which could be used in a game or other project as-is. The suburban rumble has been filtered out, leaving only the sound of the rain. Drops falling on metal can be heard. ---2 primo em172 capsules -> zoom h1, 300 hertz low-cut filter.

Front l+r channels. A passing thunderstorm and dripping rain recorded on march 8th, 2009 at deer grove forest preserve near palatine, illinois. The recording is slightly edited to prevent it from being too long. The recorder was placed under a picnic area roof, so the water is dripping from that. I think you can almost hear the storm passing from approximately right to left. Recorded using a (slightly wet) zoom h2 in 4 channel surround mode. There is a little bit of wind sound made by the mass of water falling into the shower tub. At the end of the track you can hear me putting away the shower curtain. Recorded with olympus ls-3 two stereo microphones, one bass (middle) microphone. 96hz, 24bit.
