Recorded using a zoom r 16 and a shure sm 81 mic, the only problem with the sample is me saying baap re(which means o my god) at the end, which fortunately can be edited out, the sample can also pass as a gunshot :).

Experimenting with reverb and frequency on my "meaty gunshot. Wav" sfx resulted in this; hopefully this conveys the audible sense that the gunshot is being fired underwater. Created and edited with audacity.

Extracted from camera recorded content, tidied up with audacity mono and noisegate. . . I also listen for problems and cherry pick to avoid weird sounds. . No rubbish dry sample. If you want to use these sorts of sounds (good for games or video), remeber adding reverb back is the trick to making the sound big again.

I love the crackle as the shot breaks the sound barrier. Could be slowed down to make it sound like a larger weapon, or maybe even used as an impulse response. A gunshot sound effect recorded for a high school production of the musical heathers. It was recorded on a zoom h1 and was made by a theatrical cap gun. I recorded it at a distance of about 5 feet and then again at a distance of about 40 feet from the audience and allowed the sound to reverberate both times. Then i duplicated both and mixed in both original sounds on top of each other, plus each sound pitched down 1 octave and the 40-feet away recording at 2 octaves down, plus the closer recording pitched one octave up. We then added and adjusted reverb in audacity and adjusted the sync of all the clips to be aligned, and adjusted the mix to make it sound as real as possible.

This was a recording i did for my own project and thought others may have need of it for themselves. If you have found it useful, i'm glad i was able to help.
