Steam locomotive starting and coming closer.

This is a local coffee spot on a sunday afternoon.

I recorded this sound at the steam-locomotives preservation park in kyoto, japan. Roar of steam whistle was much louder than i had imagined, so it was necessary to set the gain level of mic-preamp carefully. Using at825 and fr-2.

Synthetic steam train generated with zynaddsubfx and ardour with minimal postprocessing.

Took a ride on a historic steam engine in the lake district (england). This was recorded from inside the carriage while in transit. Some background talking but a lot of good mechanical clunking type sounds.
