The sound of a mailbox making a screeching noise.

Just a sound of a person who smokes, not very good quality but playing with equalizer and other effects, you can have a nice final sound. I recorded this sound for a personal project with a very cheap microphone. But the final rendering was good.

San diego's gaslamp district, summer, night, night clubs pounding, thick crowds, all recorded from high above, so there's a lot of dense, natural reverb. The track has various qualities, moods, and sounds as it goes along. Stereo mics.

Field recording made while walking around boston's financial district, summer 2005. Sounds include typical city noises: traffic, some construction sounds, people walking past. Some wind noise, though limited to bursts here and there.

Recording taken while helping a friend tear down an old wooden shed. Most sounds consist of one or both of us tossing chunks of wood and metal into a dumpster for disposal.

Extended recording of myself stomping around in iced-over snow after a storm. Featured sounds are footprints breaking through ice and crunching in the snow underneath, icicles being scraped across the icy snow surface, and bits of ice being thrown across the ice-covered snow surface and skittering away.

Here are some percussive sounds of a thermal mug. I've put hot water in it, shaked it and pressed the valce button to release the pressurized air (that's the first pop). Then opening and closing it again several times. Nice percussive samples to cut out from this. Recorded with zoom h2.

Indonesian maids singing in the park -. Every sunday in the streets and parks of hong kong - scores of maids meet up to enjoy their one day off a week -- they are temporary residents of hong kong and no matter how long they stay here for they must return home - there was a case last year of a lady who having worked here for 25 years wasnt allowed to stay. . These migrants mostly live with their chinese employers - who treat them very much like slaves, working long hard days, some of whome get to sleep on kitchen or bathroom floors. . . They arent wealthy so on their days off can't afford to go restaurants an cinemas and any way they are all here to earn money to send back to their families and children, since they cant afford much they tend to gather in groups in to dance and sing, or sit and eat play cards. I just so happened past a 'street' party in victoria park and took a recording as it sounded very exotic and all the people seemed happy in way i couldnt describe - altho i feel this recording is actually a little sad?. .

A surprisingly pure recording of air rushing over the microphones as i race downhill on my bicycle. Not the usual bassy static like when the wind buffets the mic during a recording.

Well, i wanted to do add a sound to my recording of a chicken in a barn. I put the mic (zoom h2 - 4ch-around) outside on the ground and threw some corn around it, so that the chickens will walk around it and hopefully make some noise. The chickens are very chilled, so there are just clucking smoothly and you can hear them walking around. Further there some flies flying close to the mic, some birds and stuff. . . :-).

Description of collection :dji mavic mini 2 sounds. Recorded on a zoom h5 stock xy mic. No editing not even normalizing, just chopped up segments in audacity. I apologise some recordings may have footsteps sounds, and remote blips (maybe the latter is good and more authentic). Mic may have been places either pointing left-right, or up-down, or both pointing up. Microphone wasn't on the floor, but set on a bench. Recorded indoor. Rhythmic noise from some kind of loud machine, recorded outdoors, as evidenced by birdsong in the background. I honestly have no idea what was making the noise, though, and my notes are missing. Mysterious!.

Zoom h4 held immediately at the opening of a thermos. Hot tea building up air pressure, escaping air evenly producing this squeaky sound. Low cut 1000hz for filtering out street noise.

Wild parrots started flying in and landing on the trees along mission bay in san diego on a cool, cloudy day. I walk around and catch some individuals and groups. Sometimes they fly overhead. I did my best to minimize footstep sounds and wind noise. Mostly, i did a good job of that. No. 2 at about 2:35 there's a nice group after a long silence, so don't quit beforehand. The stereo mics add to the liveliness of the sounds.
