Using a hairdryer.

Refrigerator hum from inside closed refrigerator. Recorded in mono mp3 mode on a zoom h2. The recorder then created a 2-track file (and i assume both tracks are identical). Compressed and normalized to -3. 1 db in audacity. Exported in flac mode.

Was making some coffee this morning and decided to just shoot some audio of it with my tascam and shotgun mic. Enjoy :).

Recording of clothes in the dry cleaner for a bit longer than one hour. I recorded this in order to use for my newborn to be able to fall asleep as white noise sound. Works pretty fine because of the repetition;at the end of the recording, the machine stops and restarts a few times for a few short cycles. Recorded with zoom h4n in mp3 format. Reduced background noise in audition. Exported to ogg because of large file size.

Its either a microwave, oven or draw. It was around the house.

This is a recording of a refrigerator door opening and closing. It was recorded with a sennheiser me66 and a tascam dr-60d.

A dryer in a garage, recorded using a zoom h4n field recorder.

Classic frigidaire (electrolux) fridge turning on. It runs a cycle for about 6. 5 minutes, making a few noises along the way, and then turns off and cools down. Recorded with at875r. For those who really care, this fridge is electrolux model # ftmd18p4kw2.

Inside a freezer. The door is open and the ice melts produce thin cracks. The cooling circuit make sounds too. Finally i close the door (fade out). Really cold.

The basic sound of a clothes dryer tumbling, mostly the deep rumbling of the motor and the thump of the tumbler. There is some sound of the clicking of clothes within the dryer, but not much. Recorded on a sony pcm-m10 recorder with a very old electret condenser microphone.

Braun model 3105 coffee maker. Multiple takes of picking up and replacing the glass carafe on the hotplate. The left channel is a sennheiser mkh-416 and the right channel is an akg c414 b-uls, both into a john hardy m-1 preamp into pro tools. Each mic has a slightly different recording position. The akg has more of a "room" perspective whereas the sennheiser gives a close up, detailed perspective.

Turning on an empty toaster briefly and cancelling it so its mechanism springs up. Handle down / buzz / springing up.

Microwave buttons pushed 4 times and cycle starting. Cycle is a low hum. Higher pitch, clear, consistent. Recorded on zoom h4, indoors.

A recording of my mini-fridge that i split into two components - the hum (this) and the evaporator thing that makes all the drippy sounds. I separated them so people can change the volume of each element, since i noticed with my fridge that you can only really hear the hum if you're really close, but hear the drippy sounds from quite a distance away, even if they're really quiet. Recorded with a zoom h4n pro, used rx7 to separate the elements. As always, i've got the un-modified loop in my "raw recordings" pack.
