This is my recording of a fire truck by with horn honks and siren wails when coming in and going out.

A truck delivers a large dumpster used to haul off construction waste. Truck idles, moves into position, drops off the dumpster, and drives off. A recording taken at 6:03 am - 7:03 am 2/3/2023 in northern wisconsin near a pond and small lake. The temperature is -21 deg f and you can hear the trees make popping noises occasionally due to the cold, which is the interesting part of this recording. There is a distant owl calling early in the recording and you can hear coyotes in the distance. Unfortunately trucks in the distance too. This is hour 854 of a 1054 hour recording (12/29/22 - 2/11/23).

This is a recording of scrap metal collection taken in pilton, edinburgh in august of 2022 at 4:40pm in the afternoon. The first thirty seconds are the sounds of scrap metal being loaded onto the truck (a trampoline if i remember correctly) and some talking. Then you hear the truck start up, and the message through the megaphone "any old scrap metal!" followed by a list of scrap metal items. At this point the truck is slowly driving away. This was recorded with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5.

The idiot in the other lane decides to give it a go, even though he/she quite clearly saw our truck coming out of the hospital parking lot. Hey, who says a 68 year old can't drive! this grandpa still has the mentality, flexibility, and reflexes of your average fit teenager these days.
