A reversed piece heavy on the phaser. Think of receiving a sound from space only to realize the sound is playing backwards.

Muffled muddy balim sound created with interplay of 2 o-ctrl (thanks walker!) through strega and o-coast. Echophon, mimeophon and morphagene heavily involved along with the haible tau phaser. X-pan plays the stereo. Rendered in reaper @48khz 32 bit fp with 14 markers for all you morphagene fans out there. Enjoy the mud!.

A recording of an air rifle being shot in a valley. Recorded on a zoom h4n pro about 5-10 metres in front of the barrel, facing away from the rifle. Edited in audacity. I love the crackle as the shot breaks the sound barrier. Could be slowed down to make it sound like a larger weapon, or maybe even used as an impulse response. I used a circuit bent tr-707 and several outboard effects pedals to create this 40 bpm dub inflected beat.

A long single foghorn sound, made by blowing into a 10-foot-long pvc pipe in a fairly big, empty room. Sounds surprising like a real foghorn in the distance.

A neighbor of mine might have just peed in his pants if he couldn't shoot off his illegal commercial fireworks before the fourth. So, july first, his manly outpouring of window-rattling bomb blasts echoed across an entire valley. For nearly two hours. I like fireworks. When i go to see 'em. Not so much when i can't get away from them. Sure, i could have gone shopping, or out for a drink. I recorded it instead. This particular explosion is just the largest of those that came after i started recording. It's just a lowly iphone but it does pretty well. Admittedly, even with no amplification it might have been too much for the microphone. You have the clear launch sound followed by burst and echo. The same blast kicks off the other fireworks file i am uploading.

This field recording was made from my villa and this is both rural and situated between two mountain ranges. So, you've got the thunder, the acoustics, the sound of the rain and the birds in the nearby trees. If you listen closely enough then you might hear the sound of the breeze through the palm trees.
