Power switch is pressed, computer starts up, plays a sound effect through the internal speaker, power switch is pressed again and the computer shuts down. Recorded with a zoom h4n, placed inside the computer.
An antique underwood no. 11 typewriter, ca. 1925. Sound was recorded on a zoom h4 in a sound booth. However, it didn't have a bell or a platen, so the key is hitting the platen of another typewriter from the 1970s. Audio cleaned up in audacity. Please use freely! i found a lack of high-quality single-key sounds.
Recording of a canon pro 2000 printer's "lock and load" mechanism for ink. Several takes with both complete motions and step by step. First series are recorded from about a foot away, then close up. Recorded with a simple stereo mic set. This track has reverb removed.

These sounds were made by this upxon-brand, key-size combination lock box: https://www. Amazon. Com/gp/product/b08ldj479d/. I bought this, and while fiddling with it i became mesmerized by the sounds it made. So i decided to record them foley-style. Recording starts with 15-second noise floor. Recorded with an iphone 7.
Dvw500 in standby-off mode, idling. This sample is part of a set featuring the interior of a sony dvw500 digital video tape recorder with a tape loaded and performing various playback operations. Recorded with a pair of soundman okmii mics inserted into the unit via the cassette-slot.
I recorded myself typing on my corsair k95 rgb platinum. This is a keyboard with cherry mx brown mechanical switches and has a tactile feel to it. I recorded this with a audio-technica at2020 condenser microphone w/ pop filter and shock mount.
Warm white noise-ish machinery hum normalized to -2db. Slightly less than 12 seconds, with short fade in and out. No rights reserved. All wrongs reversed. Boost no ills.
A bobcat type of front loader (like a small bulldozer, not the wild animal) moving sections of tree across a yard to dump them in the metal bed of a truck.
An exercise thing which you squeeze that makes a loud creaking noise, sounds interesting pitched down. Recorded with a mid-sides mic setup. Mics used were akg 414, and an oktava mk-012-01 pencil condenser.
Went to a public toilet in a small village in the lake district (england). The door lock made the most awesome sound and the reverb in that room sounded great, luckily i had my recorder. . .
Recording of a 1970's model of a foil ribbon machine, used to create 1st, 2nd, 3rd, place ribbons, etc. . . Nice untouched mechanized, industrial sound.
The buzzer sound from a carwash as one cycle ends and another begins, prompting the driver to move the vehicle forward. Basically the standard buzzer you hear in moves or factory settings when something has gone wrong or a sensor has been violated.
Recording of various creaks and groans made by (somewhat embarrassingly) my studio chair!recorded on roland r09hr 44. 1khz 16bit stereo with on board mics. Gain lifted in peak post recording.
Something went wrong on a mechanical device on top of the building that faces my balcony. I don't know what it is exactly (some fan. . . ) but the noise it produces is pretty theatrical. I just could'nt resist recording it. I belive this could be very useful to some of you looking for mechanical sounds. . . Recorded with a zoom h2n in x/y stereo mode.
