Recorded on a zoom h5 handy recorder with an xy condensor microphone capsule, on 05 february, 10 am (gmt+8) on a high rise residential apartment. The sounds are of dad sorting out his papers, while the neighbour scrubs something outside my front door; downstairs the motor vehicles make noise.

I recorded this from a balcony (5th floor) in the middle of a summer day (end of july), using a mid/side set (mkh30 + c480 b-uls/ck62-df omni) into sound devices mixpre3. Not any processing has been added, except a plain m/s to x/y stereo conversion and low-cut filter (30hz). This is a generally quiet atmo, sometimes light wind comes in, some seagulls and other birds are there at times, some construction work happens etc. The traffic noise is present, but in the distant way. Feel free to use it in any of your productions. Not for resale.

A few minutes of a thunderstorm recorded from my window in atchison kansas at around 10:30 pm. You can faintly hear the neighbor kid's tv on the other side of the wall in the background. Recorded with lifecam hd3000 sitting on my bed about a meter from the 2 open windows facing east.

Recorded from my apartment, second floor. This starts with a few bolts of lightning during the end of a typical early summer afternoon and ends up on a pretty huge thunderstorm including hail. I wish i could have recorded more but the storm was getting so important, i had to close my window.

This is 4 and a half minutes of background noise from a new york city diner, including people talking, clanging plates and glasses and forks and knives and cups being cleared away by staff. Crucially, no music is playing. This means you can either use this clean, or layer in your own rights-cleared music if you're using this in a film or whatever. Recorded in 2016 with an iphone — don't let the recording device scare you, it sounds pretty good and certainly fine for this kind of background noise. Use it in any way you like for any purpose.
