Well, i guess i live in a loud city, east village, new york city. - here is a snippet of sounds heard from a walk through my neighborhood during a weekend evening in september 2022. Also playing with hi-pass filter as part of the fade out.

Recorded radio signal using software defined radio (sdr) around 450 mhz. The sound is the result of demodulating a larger signal using cw-l mode in gqrx and skipping through the band with the signal. Therefore this sound has no real meaning it's just a part of a larger signal.

This sound was recorded in a forested area called lot 2, a low lying floodplain in the town of coffs harbour. It might be bulldozed to make land room for houses. One sample run through lots of effects, but a large part of the sound is made by running the sample at really fast repetitions, so fast it just becomes a tone. That and making the sound repeat in fractions (?) or something like that. Like one trigger is 5 times and then the next is 3 times in the same space of time. Etc. Created by mangling a sample in reaper's js scripting language.

I began my express bus ride at venice and vermont. I proceeded to record my soundwalk for exactly one minute as i rode to venice and normandie. I sat on the top row in the middle of the bus where the two parts of bus are connected like an accordion. I narrated what i heard throughout my journey.

These are the ambient sounds of a sailboat underway. You hear the sounds of wind-filled sails, the tugs on line, and boat parts movement as the boat is moving through the water under a steady wind. You can hear when the boat changes direction from being close hauled to more down wind. The zoom h4n digital recorder was used in collecting this sound. Enjoy.

A soundbite from a field recording of a maidar (future era buddha) "circumnambulation" (was nor really a circumnambulation but they kind of call it that)-a religious procession held anually on the streets of ulaanbaatar from the biggest active monastery in the country to a second biggest in the city both located on opposite sides of the central part of town. Recording from may 2011.

Just a super raw recording of the rhythmic patterns of my windscreen wipers. All made with a mobile phone from inside the car. Some parts are loopable. The "positioning" of the phone was changed every now and then, so there are different angles and "nuances". Kinda. My phone records in mp3, didn't even know.

Possible applications could be used for a character who smokes cigarettes, foley for a ignition sound effect or literally lighting a safety match.

Here is a gas meter on a restaurant. I managed to get a chunk without much background noise here but i do change the mic position part way through the recording. . This is the second part of a recording an overflowing brook in summer, out in a farmer's field after a rainstorm.
