Zoom recording.

There is a vent in my house that sounds fantastic when it rains. The drops hitting the tin cover sound almost like popping popcorn in this recording, but it's a more friendly sound in person. The rain outside is very much present in the background, but the bouncing raindrops are very easy to hear. Recorded on a windows x8 phone and left as-is. I set my mics up just in time to catch this loud thunder crash during a recording session. I aimed a stereo-matched pair of akg 451s out the window in an x-y configuration and ran them into a universal audio 2-610 preamp. There are no effects at all.

Created for the play 'exit the king' (wilbury group, 2011). A expressionistic storm, with walls crumbling down in slow motion. I made this by tearing wood and plastic apart and slowing down the sounds and adding percussion. The rain i recorded out my window.

Taken by a special app recording to wav 44khz 16 bit mono wav file on a samsung s8500 wave with a special app that can record to looseless. The phone was put directly to the window pointing the mic outside the window. This is my first try to share some sound, hope you like it. I have 2 more and better rain sounds to come. There is no other sound than the rain itself. The files hasent been post-processed.

Yes, i'm crazy to stick my head with roland cs10m mics in my ears attached to an olympus ls14 through my back porch door during a hail storm, but what i heard could not be missed. The constant, almost non-stop rull of thunder lends an erie quality to this midnight storm in madison, nj. Got popped on the nose with a couple little stones, but it was worth it.

Recorded on a h4n with a "deadcat" wind-sock, this short clip was recorded during the june 2016 rainstorm behind our house in redland bay in se qld. There is a very slight murmur of traffic that was hard to avoid, otherwise just the rushing of leaves in the gum-trees.
