Recorded during the heatwave that the uk endured in 2022 this was a recording made from the garden on august 25th. The recording starts with gentle rain which slowly becomes heavier. I made a series of recordings of urban sounds from my open living room window between late july and early september 2014. These recordings were done at various times of the day. I am using these as quiet background ambiance on a short play due to be performed in the near future. Recorded with a roland r26.

Background distant traffic noise and helicopter appears about halfway through the recording then some people's voices near the end. I've amplified this recording by around 8db, no other processing applied.

I wanted to make a sound effect for a game i'm developing, and so i recorded a 100-mm artillery cannon at camp williams (utah national guard), then modified the sounds using audacity. The recording was done on an olympus digital recorder in the mid-2000s (first decade). It sounded a little to me like the tribute cannon from hunger games (the sound effect that signals the deaths of the tributes), thus the name.
