Recorded late summer/early autumn by a lake in rural ontario. I was trying to record the sound of six loons calling to each other, but was interrupted by an aggressive chipmunk who had decided that the lakeside was his and his alone. I recorded anyway. Recorded using an h2n zoom recorder, using the m/s raw setting.

In tokyo everyone lives on top of each other, so practicing an instrument can be a hassle as you dont want to annoy your neighbors, especially if your a beginner. So budding musicians head out to the park where they can practice. I recorded the end of a rain storm with water running off of the house and multitudes and species of frogs in the background. Dvw500 in standby-off mode, idling. This sample is part of a set featuring the interior of a sony dvw500 digital video tape recorder with a tape loaded and performing various playback operations. Recorded with a pair of soundman okmii mics inserted into the unit via the cassette-slot.

Rarely can i manage to record the sound from a cat in such strong emotion, so i rolled the recorder for 1 minute with guilt. I gave my cat a fish can afterward, so don't feel sorry when you use the sound.

A very loud and rumbly thunderstorm rolled through jefferson city, mo. I set up my zoom h4n with the mics set to 120 degrees to record the storm. Less than a minute after i started recording, a lightning bolt hit just across the street. A lot of loud and rumbly thunder in this audio clip.

Purring of cat: this sound is extremely distinct. It is an up-close recording of the vibrations emitted by a cat when they are happy. It is an accurate representation because an actual cat was used to record this sound. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg. This is a great sound if you are looking for an extreme specific purr unaccompanied by other noises.
