This recording was taken in the edinburgh cbd during the fringe festival in august 2022 in the early evening, around 7pm. I like it because it gives an idea of the unusual way that sounds travel in that city. I could never figure out the reason for it, but it was noticeable to me the whole time i was there. If anyone knows the reason please post it in the comments. The recording was made with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5 portable recorder.

This is a recording of men working at a construction site. You can hear individual hammers as well as a jackhammer and other machinery. Also, two men were shoveling refuse off a concrete platform and putting it into plastic bags. Attribution isn't required, but i'd love to hear anything you use it in!. It is a weekday morning, some people are walking and talking on the premises. A group of schoolchildren passes some distance away at the beginning, some light construction work is going on in the midrange, and in the far range the busy city noises of london can be heard. The recorder is in the center of the courtyard facing into the complex. Recorded with a zoom h2n and matrixed to 5. 1 surround.

The sound of an electric van operated by la poste in france (national mail service) in quiberon in august 2020. This e-van is obviously silent. One can spot the sound of a gravel stuck in one tire, louder than the engine itself. This was recorded on a tascam dr-05, 16bits 44. 1khz by me.

I stopped on my way into work for a minute to record the sounds coming from a hedge. There's birdsong, a bit of traffic and you might be able to sense my awkwardness as i stood on the side of the street pointing a little electronic device towards a bush. Olympus ls-5, internal mics, no filtering.
