Erm, i rolled a hard boiled egg around in a large ceramic fruit bowl. . . For a project. I used a stereo pair of fel 'clippy' mics and recorded onto a sounddevices mixpre-6. Some light noise reduction and normalizing using izotope. I do not require any credit or attribution. Another recording of the idling train engine, this time with the spitting sound more towards a struggling pneumatic (air) valve. Also the alarm sound is more of a continuous cycling engine hum.

My first recording with the tascam dr-05. Was taken out the window. At minute 0:48 you can hear the strong wind sensitivity of the recorder. Stereo; 96000 hz; 24 bit; microphone up to max.

Near where i do many of my favorite nature recordings there are train tracks which can ocassionally be very busy -- and yes, sometimes they have interfered with some of my nature recordings. But, recently i recorded the sound of the approaching train carrying loads of coal. It was around dusk and breezy -- melancholy combination. . . . I really love the echo of the whistle. . . . You can hear the conductor's announcements, station arrivals and departures, passenger conversations (in japanese) and, of course, the train itself. The recording is unprocessed and made with a stereo mic pair at a 90 degree incidental angle.
