Hello all,. I do hope that i am doing it all okay by the book, and if it is picked by the moderator, than do enjoy the file, thank you. Process :i did download a cc open scream file from freesound. Org. I imported that file to my ableton live. I reverse the sample and shorten a little. From the sample window i changed flux and grain values to bring out uneasy tones in front. I did make two other copies of the sample and played them all in same sequence, with slight different transpose values. I rendered it out and from the rendered file i did do further cleaning with audacity and export mp3 file for final. Here is the original sound http://www. Freesound. Another recording of rain and thunder, but in some ways a better one. This one is a surprisingly big crack and rumble preceded and followed by a nice sounding rain. I made this by positioning a stereo-matched pair of akg c451b condenser mics in an exaggerated x-y configuration (a wider stereo field) and aiming them out of my open window. The mics went into a universal audio 2-610 preamp, an apogee duet 2, and then ableton at 48khz and 24 bits. I believe i had the mics set flat, and there was no post processing (though i was mightily tempted to upload the much-better-sounding eqed and compressed files) so that you can fine tune it to suit your needs. You'll notice that the loudest parts of the thunder boom clipped the input, but, due to the pleasant and forgiving nature of vacuum tubes, the clipping sounds more compressed than distorted. Feel free to use this sound in any commercial or artistic work! you do not need to credit me.

Approaching army? rising nightmare?. Wrote/recorded an eerie nightmare approaching in the distance sound. The sound starts soft and builds to a crescendo. Ezdrummer2 was used w/ a low pass eq filter. Made in ableton live this time, it is a multilayered loop consisting of recordings of an ak47, a 30 caliber 1918, and an m60 machine gun to make a rediculous powerful sound. A very short clicky kick drum with the high end reduced is added before the initial gunshot to make it punch more, otherwise it would sound weaker. There are two mechanical bolt sounds, one covering the upper mid range, and the other covering the extreme highs. Shell ejections and two reverb tails were mixed in at the end with some simple automated panning to make it move around the stereo field. The tempo slowly decreases to simulate barrel heating. Lots of processing. The layers were eq'ed, then ran into a software amp that is gently distorting the low and mid range. Then smashed together with ott multiband upward/downward compression to bring out the details. A maximizer was used to bring up the loudness some. Enjoy.

I recently contributed a track to a triple lp set of krautrock cover versions ("head music 2", released by fruits de mer records, december 2020). The song i chose to cover was kraftwerk's "autobahn". If you know the track, you'll know that it uses synthesised traffic sounds alongside recordings of the same. On my version, i achieved these in three ways:. 1) i downloaded some public domain traffic sound effects from elsewhere here on freesound. Org (thanks, guys!). 2) i got in my car with my zoom recorder and made my own recordings of the engine starting, stopping, etc. 3) i made my own sound effects using virtual synths and effects in ableton live 10. This particular sound falls into the third category. Let me stress that while the song "autobahn" is copyrighted, these are isolated sound effects and are not covered by copyright. I'm making them available here under a public domain licence. If you download and use any of these samples, please let me know in the comments what you did with them. It's not compulsory but it would be interesting to know what people did with these sounds.

Made in ableton live. A slow firing heavy weapon. 19 layers were used to create this one. Eq was used to select different frequencies from various weapon samples and compressed together for the inital transient or pop. Time based fade in/out layering was used for the sustain and reverb tails so they fit nicely together. The single shot that was layered together was then printed as a new audio sample. I created a loop and pitched every shot by a few cents or 1 semitone to add variation. Each sample was then manually shifted on the timeline forward or backward by milliseconds to give a more realistic feel in timing rather than sound robotic. Each shot was sidechained to duck down in volume when a new shot triggers for more clarity. Mechanical trigger and bolt movement samples were add in before/after the initial transient of the shot. Shell hit floor samples were used for added detail. I felt the shots lacked a good sub bass so an eq was used to filter out the sub and replaced with a rapidly decaying 808 kick drums sub. Once the loop was formed, all shots were then grouped together and processed with a transient designer into a clipper, a compressor, a maximizer, ott multiband, gluing reverb, stereo spread and then into a final limiter.
