Got a group of about 8 people to say "hey!" a few times. Layered all the takes, compressed, and added a touch of reverb. I've used this one a bunch in my own songs. Sometimes, to achieve a convincing gang vocal effect, when i don't have a gang, you can sing your line a few times, and then layer this "hey" under each syllable, and you can get a pseudo-gang vocal. Works in a pinch if your mix is dense enough. I'd love if you'd credit joshua scott or rjc studios if you use this sample, but don't sweat it if you don't. Good artists borrow, great artists steal.

A computer-generated voice build specifically for a video game called artemis spaceship bridge simulator. I wrote the text, put it through a royalty-free text to voice generator. Then i edited it in pro tools with several fx to achieve the proper mood. I specifically use it with artemis bridge tools, which lets this track be triggered by game events. I am not affiliated with this video game in any way. Just a passionate sound designer with a gaming habit. For this track, the computer says "docking complete. ".

I created this sound to add to the freesound. Org library of sound, because, to obtain use on a sound here, one of the stipulations was that i had to add a sound here at freesound. Org. I love sounds. My senses have always naturally been fine tuned to appreciate the subtle cues in sounds, although, as an artist, i am more drawn to create music or visual art, rather than sounds, but i gave it my best try here. This is a sound i have been doing for years, since a very young child actually. Basically the sound is achieved by making three sounds with my mouth. . . 1. Sucking my lips together, and then opening my mouth, 2. Bringing lips back together and forcing air out 3. And then the sound of my tongue pressed just under my front teeth, and flicking my tongue down. I do this very fast. Enjoy!.

This file was recorded on november 19 2013 at london's euston railway station quite close to the arrivals board. It was achieved using an olympus ls-100 digital recorder with cad m179 microphones attached to a jecklin disk (see wikipedia) to obtain the best sound possible. As opposed to quasi-binaural recordings where the user attaches small diaphragm microphones to his/her shirt collar (my usual recording method), the jecklin disk can be mounted on a semi-fixed object such as a floor-standing microphone stand which it was in this case, and left for a few moments for the best possible outcome. Using a jecklin disk means that there are no minute movements from a person trying to stand as still as possible, and for some unknown reason, this setup is able to differentiate in front and behind sound image although i personally do not know why this is the case.

This is heavily inspired by the urban myth and/or creepypasta called the backrooms, which have a very distinct atmosphere to them. This is my interpretation. No advanced processing was used to achieve this sound. I recorded an electrical box in my garage for the buzzing. For the 2nd layer, i turned on some fans in my room, and made a long mono recording of the white-noise. I then split the recording in half, and used each half for the left and right channel, giving it a stereo sound. I then spent an hour leveling all of it because i'm a perfectionist. Yay. I recently contributed a track to a triple lp set of krautrock cover versions ("head music 2", released by fruits de mer records, december 2020). The song i chose to cover was kraftwerk's "autobahn". If you know the track, you'll know that it uses synthesised traffic sounds alongside recordings of the same. On my version, i achieved these in three ways:. 1) i downloaded some public domain traffic sound effects from elsewhere here on freesound. Org (thanks, guys!). 2) i got in my car with my zoom recorder and made my own recordings of the engine starting, stopping, etc. 3) i made my own sound effects using virtual synths and effects in ableton live 10. This particular sound falls into the third category. Let me stress that while the song "autobahn" is copyrighted, these are isolated sound effects and are not covered by copyright. I'm making them available here under a public domain licence. If you download and use any of these samples, please let me know in the comments what you did with them. I made this sound in september 2003 - i used a fairlight mfx 3 - a direct descendant of the first sampler ever made - and the best ever to this day editing software for ground breaking features and functions. Clip based eq and level which you could cross fade between made the use of automation almost redundant in precise to picture editing. It also had a unique alternative jog function. You could loop 1 frame or so as you chose of sound at the orginal pitch which made it easy to find transient points. I then 'grind' the play head over a solo'd sound and play this into a reverb unit. I have many of these accidental experiments and one day i shall make the fairlight pack!. Until then enjoy this alien - from mars with love :). If you open a sample in the sample editor - you can recreate the fairlight jpg by grabbing the playback head in play. You may then route sound flower thru an input channel and get some unusual effects that are difficult to achieve. . If you can improve on this method let me know!.
