These are several cannon shots as recorded outside my window from an airshow at a nearby airport. The mic was a large diaphragm condenser modded by michael joly eng. Format is mono, 44. 1/24.

I live near a rural airport. Small-engine plane flying by. Distant sound, not close up. I left a lot of ambience on the front and back end so you can choose when to fade in and out.

Virgin atlantic airways airbus a330-343x (msn 1201, built 2011) landing at dresden airport, germany, on jan 26, 2021. For recording i used a zoom h5 stereo field recorder plus two rode ntg2 shotgun mics in a 90 degrees angle.

This record was taken at dresden airport during departure of a virgin atlantic airbus a330-343x. For recording i used a sony fdr 53 camcorder with a mounted rode video mic (just a simple mono mic, but sounds quite nice).

Recorded on 26/02/2010 on an sbb train at approx. 9pm leaving zürich hauptbahnhof, zürich, switzerland. Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, without a windshield. File has not been modified, only cut short from a longer recording.

This was a silly idea based on tone uploaded by freqman (thanks for the inspiration). The tones (airport lounge type)sound then a man's voice (much manipulated) says "you have a visitor". A nice & sunny recording session at the airport! positioned right at the flight path of departing planes, this served as a test recording for the tascam dr-40x. At some point during the session i decided to point the recorder straight up, instead of towards the planes themselves, creating a nice stereo "pass-by" effect.

I recorded this sound with my nokia lumia 900 cellphone inside a boeing 737. The airplane landed, the pilot is saying good-bye through the loudspeakers. You can also hear the engines of the plane and people unlocking their seatbelts. Additionally, there's a crying baby on the background. The plane landed on schiphol airport.

This sound is of a commercial airliner passing overhead. It was recorded using my zoom h4n stereo field recorder, as i faced east, looking over sun devil stadium in tempe, arizona on top of what they call "a mountain". It was captured around 3:30 in the afternoon, in the spring of 2014, with the airplane due east towards phoenix sky harbor airport, descending on approach.

This recording, unlike my previous insect recordings, was taken in an actual forrest on south mountain reservation, millburn nj (as opposed to my backyard). There is a distant airplane in the background (south mountain is near newark airport) but otherwise its much cleaner than my previous recordings, pretty much isolating the patch of crickets. ---two primo em172 capsules -> zoom h1.

I edited this recording to have it fade out at the end.

Most of this recording is of insects in a special field of native wildflowers at a dog-park on south mountain reservation in new jersey. Near the beginning of the recording, you can hear, in the distance, a dog at the dog park yelping in pain very loudly, perhaps after receiving a bite from another dog. In-cabin recording of a qatar airways boeing 787 dreamliner landing at doha international airport (qatar), followed by announcements in arabic and english. The aircraft touches down at 0:47, the english in-flight arrival announcement is broadcast at 3:44, and there is a bounty of ambient noise including seatbelts clicking, bags zipping, and chatter from passengers. This was recorded in-person from my seat with a tascam dr-40. I was located mid-section (just behind the wings) in an aisle seat. Plane- it’s difficult to get good recordings of planes taking off these days. There’s always major streets or highways close by which results in a bunch of unwanted traffic noise. It’s difficult to find a good vantage point to set up because there’s hardly any public parking with unobstructed sight lines (or in my case hearing lines) to the planes. Plus, with all the extra security measures in place these days, how suspicious would i look setting up a laptop andsome cables and some other electronic equipment in the general area of the runway?but i managed to get this recording. It’s not spectacular, but it’s ok. There’s some worker truck at the end of it which gets in the way, but doesn’t ruin it. Airplane, atr 72 (at72) flying by towards airfield at 300 m altitude. Atr 72 is a plane much like the dh8d, a twin engined propeller plane. Recorded at a quiet location (maybe only some birds). Observing point: 300 m from the side of the flying route (one has to look up about 45 degrees for the plane). Speed: about 250 to 280 km/h. This is the recording as it is, recorded with zoom h2n music-capable voicerecorder. The mode of the voicerecorder was just the good old ordinary left-right stereo recording (xy) not such things as mid-side or 4 channel etc. No compression used. I may have edited out some sudden bird sounds or beeps from the camera but that's of negigible influence on the sound. There is a slight hiss from a row of trees in the distance. Feel free to use. If you're happy with the recording, it only adds to the fun i already had of it.
