A gathering of small birds chattering in a bush outside my house, chattering to each other. Some wind noise, wind chimes and (unfortunately) the vibration noise of the minidisc recorder drive spinning are all clearly audible at various points.
I recorded this sound from the backyard on 3. 13. 19 on a cold morning around 8:10am arizona time. It was damp from the rain overnight. I processed the audio in logic by placing a high-pass filter and a limiter.

As starlings migrate south for the winter, millions of them like to stop over parts of maryland and nestle in the trees. The sound of their chirping can be deafening. Someone decided to launch bottle rockets into the trees to scare them off. It doesn't sound like it worked does it? enjoy!.

I had been out on a field recording trip in sheffield and on my arrival home was struck by the vigour and volume of the birdsong in my garden so i made a quick recording of it while i had my portable pcm recorder to hand.
