A sound bite of a dodge caravan driving through a heavy rain. Listen to the pitter-patter of rain on the window. Would make for a good sleep aid if looped. Recorded via a zoom h4n.
Here's a sound bite of me setting off a morning glory firework (essentially a sparkler, for the unaware). It almost sounds like a fuse going off if you ask me. Could be good for a fuse sound for a project. Recorded with a zoom h4n.
Birdsong and crows in the fields above my home in the fog and damp - so sounds amplified and 'hollow'. Recorded using a sennheiser 'shotgun' mic. Cropped in audacity; and saved as aif file. The odd airline going overhead can be heard. Quite an eerie sound-bite. Feel free to hash it, mash it and trash it. Use it as you wish. No conditions.
This is a foghorn-like sound that i created using an accidentally recorded poot from a friend. I stretched the sound bite a few times while lowering the pitch, added a couple different reverb effects, and then finished it with some parametric eq, raising the bass, and using a low pass filter to cut out the high frequencies. If you would like the original poot sound, i have also uploaded it as fart sound 1.
Most of this recording is of insects in a special field of native wildflowers at a dog-park on south mountain reservation in new jersey. Near the beginning of the recording, you can hear, in the distance, a dog at the dog park yelping in pain very loudly, perhaps after receiving a bite from another dog. The rest of the recording is pure ambience, except for a plane (newark airport isn't far off). ---two primo em172 capsules -> zoom h1.
Created this excerpt for my film "one thing". Melodic cello is joined by chirpy guitar to create an odd mood. Very lovely imo. Not a complete piece but a nice sound-bite?. Created in garage band at 120bpm. Mp3 file. Simple two track overlay. Feel free to hash it, mash it and trash it. Use it as you wish, with only two conditions:. 1. Autumn is a time for slowing down and allowing yourself time for reflection and contemplation. The accomplishments and mistakes from the previous year. Especially if you make it a habit of getting out all year long and exploring nature, autumn can be a much-needed change in sensory soundscape. . . . After a busy spring listening to the many different warblers which come to visit and a busy summer immersed in the busy sounds of life----both human and natural----autumn's subtle, quiet muted soundscape can be almost like a re-birth for the ears and the soul. The insects, which had taken over center stage since august, are still singing---though now with a quieter volume and a more even sleep and though-inducing tempo. . . . . . . . Brisk winds from the north can be heard more clearly now----swishing, rustling the weedy, tan edges of fields. . . . . Hinting at the bite of much colder masses of canadian air waiting on deck for their turn in the months of november, december and january. . . I made this recording on the evening of october 4th 2014 at the edge of a field which was bordered by thick stands of oaks and pines of a major national forest. . . . . I couldn't help but pretend i was linus waiting in the pumpkin patch for the great pumpkin to arrive!. Recording made with my marantz pmd661 and a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone on a tripod about 3 feet above the ground. My input volume was 6. I hope you enjoy this soundscape as much as i do.
