Wrinkled a plastic bag (home to rubber bands, who played no part in this recording) on my desk to try to make an ice freezing sound. Instead it sounds like stepping on cracking ice.
I was looking for a nice dramatic whip sound and was having a hard time finding something i really liked so i mixed 3 different whip sounds together. I hope you enjoy! please link any projects you use this sound in!.
This sound is a collection of noises intended to respresent: a blind person's cane, someone trying to crack a safe and a person searching for something - such as in a store room. It was recorded using a shure sm58 and a marantz digital hard drive recorder.

Skates on ice: here is a very specific sound effect. The metallic slash through ice when it is being skated on. There are multiple variations of this in this track due to the amount of contact the blade of the skate has to the ice and also the force being put into the movement. It is a sharp and cold sound. Simulation of a heavy object being dragged or pushed across the ice. Effect was created by dragging a small block of wood across a tolex covered surface, overlaid with sound of fingernail dragging across the bottom of an empty, but icy ice cube tray. Recorded with an sm57 dynamic mic.

This is exactly what you think. An ice cream truck sat idle a few doors down from me and i got two runs of the song it plays before people came out or a car went by. The song is pretty clean.
