I´ve recorded this sound produced by a large water wheel of 4 meters diameter, in the historical part of augsburg bavaria, part of town where early industry and work shops used water energy for different purposes. This water wheel does not drive any gear any more, it is just for to give an impression of that old water driven industry. The wheel is driven by one of many former industry channels, small rivers through that part of town.

A short clip of a recording i made from my cbf600 motorcycle gearbox and chain. You can hear gearbox wine (normal), the sound of the chain running over the drive sprocket, some gear shifts and a little wind noise. I recorded it to see what it sounded like. It can make a good reference with which to compare should you think there is a problem in the future. I like the sound of the engine running and gears, normally drowned out by the exhaust. I clipped the mic to the gear lever. If i do it again i will place it further away from the sprocket.

This is a recording of scrap metal collection taken in pilton, edinburgh in august of 2022 at 4:40pm in the afternoon. The first thirty seconds are the sounds of scrap metal being loaded onto the truck (a trampoline if i remember correctly) and some talking. Then you hear the truck start up, and the message through the megaphone "any old scrap metal!" followed by a list of scrap metal items. At this point the truck is slowly driving away. This was recorded with the inbuilt stereo microphones of a zoom h5.

Recorded during riding by attaching a zoom h4n at my left leg. The xy-microphone pointed vertically direction to the seat/engine, so no spectacular stereo-sound, but different sound timbre on l/r. The exhaust had a rusted hole so it's not the original vespa-sound but more rough. Different styles of driving. Including starter and switching off. This field-recording was taken inside of a high-capacity wagon of the ic-train 2374 starting at the station darmstadt in direction of frankfurt. The wagon was rather empty, but two passengers can often be heard talking during this recording. Many different sounds and noises are heard during different driving situations of the train. The recording was started on 4th january 2023 at 10:23 cet shortly before the closing of the doors and the departure of the train in darmstadt. At 01:16 an announcement can be heard. The recording was conducted close range at street level directly at the intersection by a tram line, the rear mics, featured in this file, are pointing onto the sidewalk, away from the street, at a right angle. Recording of the tires of a flat bed trailer going over a gravel path. This was from a hayride where i was sitting in the back with a bunch of kids being pulled by the tractor. Recorder was just a couple of feet from the wheel so most of the kids noises and even the tractor engine get drowned out, but still somewhat audible in spots.
