I made this by playing a couple sine waves on different notes, then i added a fruity waveshaper to add harmonics whenever one of the sine waves clips, then filtered out the original sine waves, leaving you with the distorted harmonics you have here. Imagine a warm, damp-humid august evening in the midwest. It's about 8pm and you're in a mowed path which is 10 feet wide. On either side of you, are two fields of tall -- 9 feet --- corn standing like green, thick grassy sentinels. This is where i was when i recorded this hypnotic sound-scape on saturday night august 9th 2014. I made this recording with my marantz pmd661 (modified by oade brothers electronics)in stereo using twin, matched samson co2 microphones mounted on my tripod about 5 feet above the ground. My record volume was 6 1/2.

Patch on my doepfer a-100 modular synthesizer. Recorded in early 2015 using my google nexus 5 with a class-compliant audio-interface and the soundcloud app. I called it "babysteps" at the time. It becomes clear when i record with audacity and can actually see the attack and decay. I’m playing with alm pip slope. With this module you can cv control the attack and decay. As oscillator i use intellijel μvcf in self-oscillation mode. I fm-modulate this filter/oscillator with a tone from uoki-toki polivoks vcf. The semi random trigger is really two triggers connected to an or gate. Pitch is from analogue systems rs-40 (sample/hold and noise). I can listen to this for a looong time. Retro sound.

While recording narration on my blue yeti microphone, the cable came loose in just such a way that it started glitching and converted everything i said into weird techno music. In the radio drama big data, it was used to represent the end of the internet. You are free to use it in any way you like, but it would be super funny if you credit it to "broke yeti" as though that is a real band and help me confuse people.

Friday. Random. Why this madness? answer: i have patched s/h (sample and hold) random to doepfer a-160 clock divider and that affects the a-161. For the sake of it i patched one of the gates to the ladik r-110 rnd t/g (random trigger and gate). Result much more randomness than i can use. I can tell you that there is a lot of blinking diodes :-) sounds from doepfer a-110 and 2hp osc and sampler soundmachines ul1uloop.

Was up late last night and needed to make a foley for a radio tuning for a movie project thats coming up. So i thought i try and make my own. I just took my alarm clock radio and played with the am tuner and got some pleasing results. In the beginning it tunes in into various stations while coming towards the end its very errie with static and a wobbly tone. Feel free to use this for your own project. My first little attempt at making some film-like sound effects. Alot of bass in this one, tried to cut it below 30-50hz. I just want to point out to the people having a listen, that the sample that streams on the website has a small static-like noise in it. . The download version will not have this noise, i believe the compression for streaming degraded the sound a bit.

Sounds/music from a vcv-rack patch that generates suspense music.

Recorded a patch that generates blippy swooshy and clicky etc sound effects. The sound file is straight from the modular. You do the post editing. There must be some noises in here that is useful. . . ?.

Start with chaos. In this sound/patch you have the possibility to enjoy chaos and feedbacki use my sloth lfos and jerkoff - another chaos moduleim possible sick i like this - thou its simple. Sloth modulate vco and filter cut of frequencyfeedback from vco to the filter via a vca controlled by a looping envpan fx also controlled by sloth - same env that controls the frequency. The "prassel" rustle sound is great in my earsjerkoff, exp vca, function and another sloth. Evaluation of patch/soundone cycle is - there are many cycles to consideronly short sounds - no, goodamplitude variation - yep goodpitch variation - mediumtimbre variation - some, via filter/two soundsmusical value - i think so!entertaining - yes?!.

Trying to create a small "engine" for use in generative patches. I use doepfer a-147-2 and alm pip slope. Here i use them in a two voice patch.

Three looping envelopes 2 on quadra and one pip slope. Forming a minimal rhythm. It's not stable. I make it even more unstable by injecting some cv to one of the envelopes. Maybe i injected a little to much? cool anyway.

I tried to create a feedback loop with my delay. It'a a simple analog stomp box delay.

I used make noise function, doepfer a-147-2 cvlfo, doepfer a-148 sample and hold, doepfer a-110 vco, doepfer a-124 filter, alm tangle quartet vca and mixer, doepfer a-199 spring reverb, pittsburgh modular outs (mk. Ii) outmodule.

No fuss 3 stage asr (analog shift register) patch. I sample from a quantizer but still its not exact pitch. The sound start with a short decay. I will gradually increase the decay time of the three sounds.
