The guest room i am staying in has a tile bathroom. Each time i take a shower, i hear this magnificent hum of the water heater clicking on and then turning off once the shower water is stopped. I was fortunate enough to hear it click on while i wasn't in the shower and captured about 30 seconds of it before it died. Infinite variation, impossible to replicate. At the end, as the water heater shuts down, it clicks down into the lowest ranges of the frequency spectrum; i didn't hear it until i listened to the recording but the couple of seconds of that are just as magical. Wish i would have left the recorder running!. Captured with a zoom h3-vr to ambix format at 96k24bit and bounced to stereo. Processing: 24db gain to all 4 clips, izotope spectral denoise to get rid of the air in the room and izotope ozone to enhance the bass signal a touch. Enjoy!.

Description of collection :dji mavic mini 2 sounds. Recorded on a zoom h5 stock xy mic. No editing not even normalizing, just chopped up segments in audacity. I apologise some recordings may have footsteps sounds, and remote blips (maybe the latter is good and more authentic). A peaceful, quiet soundscape recorded in the midwest during covid-19. This includes the nice, soft, gentle song of crickets during the midday. Plus, about halfway through, one of my favorite sounds--even though it is man-made, that of a propeller airplane droning on through the bright, breezy saturday. Recording made on saturday may 9th, 2020 at 3pm in the afternoon. It was made in short grass just off of an asphalt trail, running through a beautiful woods at a very popular state park in illinois. Because of the covid-19 shutdown, the background noise of cars was almost nonexistent. Plus, the grass in the picnic area which surrounded the asphalt trail had not been mowed in a while, which added a nice touch of wild to the place. Equipment: sony pcmd100. Enjoy !.

I was on the way back from our easterfire, an old german tradition in the night before easter sunday. Similar to the bonfire in august in britain. I heard the nightingale singing, went at home took my sennhiser me80 with the windshield basket and recorder zoom h4. I returned to the place i heard the nightingale and the bird was still singing. On the recording you can hear the ambient of chemical factory of honywell seelze, a street with cars sometimes, a second nightingale far away answering our nightingale near by. And some frogs. At the beginning of the recording there is also some handgrabbing noise, later i fixed the mic on the saddle of my bike and there is no longer the handgrabbing. Enjoy the beautyful singing, cheers.

That interesting time of year between winter and spring. Actually, here in the northern hemisphere winter can still be strongly felt. . . The outside temp. When this recording was done was a very cold 30 degrees f. But, as you can hear, the main players in this small-town soundscape are the american robins (turdus migratorious) who are busy vocalizing and setting up their territory. Despite the cold, these summer residents don't seem to let that get in their way. Recording made at 6:30am on tuesday march 13th, 2018 in the backyard of a home in a small town in illinois. One of my favorite spots to hike in illinois has this quite long, and beautiful and rock-lined beautiful creek. Now, even though this creek is in heavy forest, which often leads to very low water levels during the summer, this creek is spring fed so it always has a beautiful ribbon of pure water running 12 months out of the year. I've spent many minutes and countless hours beside this living, breathing water-course pondering the beauty of nature, and reflecting back on my childhood. A childhood filled with much love and many creek adventures. This was recorded on march 8 2021, at a time in the midwest woods when the mayapples are popping up-- lime green umbrellas spotting the forest floor. Raw sound of lips kisses. Used to make these noises many years ago during high school lessons when i was bored in the classroom. Didn't aim it at anyone - did these noises when noone was looking - and just before someone looked, i stopped and pretended like it wasn't me. Note: i have created a newer version which has better looping. It is called drum beat loop 2. 0. This is a drum beating. It is 12 seconds long but can be looped. It was createdusing ableton live (including plugins like acdgen, drumbrain, and polyrandom). The files were then combined and edited using audacity. Feel free to comment your opinions on this. This recording was made at 3pm on wednesday october 5 2022 in a huge, 70-plus acre, abandoned farm field. A field bordered thousands of acres of state-owned forest. The soft peeps of the few remining birds, grubbing around for protein-packed insects is the soundtrack. At 5 minutes into this recording a delightful, friendly exchange between two birds as if they are saying "hey, let's help each other find food before this field is blanketed with snow at cold. ". At 7:05 in this recording a truck slowly drives by, softly crunching gravel and the driver slows down to witness this annual, melancholy autumnal change. Disclaimer: this may be loud. Check your volume. This sound is an experiment i did for a short film my crew and i are working on. I wanted to see if i could make a warning effect like the civil defense messages that play on the radio for storms and other emergencies, so i recorded my voice, and pitched it down, equalized it, put it through a high pass filter and lo and behold, i think it sounds pretty darn close. I then coupled it with a couple alert tones from my local noaa / nssl station and this sound was born. This effect could be used for an apocalyptic scenario or civil unrest, riots, looting, or anything else you desire. Not required, but it would be cool to hear if you use it for anything. Enjoy!.

Org. I imported that file to my ableton live. I reverse the sample and shorten a little. From the sample window i changed flux and grain values to bring out uneasy tones in front. I did make two other copies of the sample and played them all in same sequence, with slight different transpose values. While attempting to create a sick ass dubstep wob noise in rob papen's albino synth plugin, i managed to stumble across a telephone-like sound while pitching the filter cutoff on a weird shaped wave oscillator. Made in ableton live this time, it is a multilayered loop consisting of recordings of an ak47, a 30 caliber 1918, and an m60 machine gun to make a rediculous powerful sound. A very short clicky kick drum with the high end reduced is added before the initial gunshot to make it punch more, otherwise it would sound weaker. There are two mechanical bolt sounds, one covering the upper mid range, and the other covering the extreme highs. Shell ejections and two reverb tails were mixed in at the end with some simple automated panning to make it move around the stereo field. The tempo slowly decreases to simulate barrel heating. Lots of processing. The layers were eq'ed, then ran into a software amp that is gently distorting the low and mid range. Then smashed together with ott multiband upward/downward compression to bring out the details. A maximizer was used to bring up the loudness some. Enjoy.

The great thing about this recording is that it's free of all music that would invalidate the recording due to copyright restrictions. In-n-out, unlike other fast food chains, does not allow music in their dining rooms. This is because most in-n-out locations are so busy and constantly loud, the addition of music would create an unbearable sense of mayhem. As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully attempt not to turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. Of course, if you don't want binaural audio you can always easily convert to mono. This is a recording of me approaching a soda machine in my apartment complex, swiping my credit card in the new, handy-dandy credit card slot, and dispensing a coke zero (in case you really needed to know). Our neighbors fought a lot. Usually at around 2am and it would go on for about an hour or two. Besides being angry and annoyed, my girlfriend and i were always curious as to what they could possibly be fighting about. I had the idea to record them via a long mic cable stretching down the hallway, strategically hidden behind a few pieces of wood, to their apartment door. My plan was to one day play this from my stereo at a loud volume around 2am. As i later thought this through i realized that this would only disturb my other quiet neighbors and was a fairly selfish act. Anyway, i used a $100 audio-technica stereo mic and recorded it directly into my computer as an. Aiff. They seem to be arguing about a stereo and someone not loving the other. It's rather sad. We no longer live in that building so i have no idea what became of them. I hope they are happier now. Enjoy.

This one was also made in sylenth1, its a pretty dirty gritty sounding patch i made. Has a bit of the 'decimate' bitcrusher (sylenths', and i also added a bass amp in logic to fatten the sound up, its played in g. I always name my loops with the first letter on its key hence the name ghost chord=) , and is a loop made at 128bpm. Feel free to use it in any of your works + more importantly let me know why you like it?i take quite some time into adding details in my sounds. I find making a loop can be very good for tuning your ears & production techniques, because like an artist if your painting something small u add a lot more detail. This is a recording i made on sunday november 4th 2012 of the gentle, droning sounds of insects that were singing in a marshy area near the shore of a small lake. This is a very typical ambiance of autumn in the southern portion of illinois. If you listen carefully, you'll hear another very typical fall sound, the cry of blue jays in the heavy woods which surround this lake. One of my favorite sound-scapes. I made this with my rugged and dependable handy zoom h4n recorder, using its built-in microphones. I literaly had it sitting on a small log only about 15 feet from the water's edge. Because the insects were not very loud, i did have to crank up my record volume to 86 on the scale of 100; this means you will hear a little bit of slight wind rumble, but all-in-all i think the recording paints a good picture of the early autumn landscape and everything slows down and winds down for the bitter winter ahead. A nice wet-themed ambiance of early spring in a small midwestern town in the us. The spring peepers dominate, always in the background. The american toads trill off and on (:38----1:04, 2:09-----2:31, 5:50----6:07, 6:25----6:40)there is also a distant dog bark, with echo at 3:31. Distant car horn at 3:57. Since this was recorded on a busy weeknight at 7pm, a lot of distant car doors and people picking up and dropping off kiddos for basketball practice, choir practice and other ancient extracurricular activities. There is a particularly good door open and slam and muted conversations at 6:43 to 6:56 and again at 7:17stereo recording made on thursday night march 29th, 2018 using a sound devices 702 and an audiotechnica bp4025 stereo microphone. The original was recorded at the very high sample rate of 196hz. Enjoy a town winding down and internalizing on a cold, drippy wet night in either very late winter, or very early spring.

The new hope & ivyland railroad is located in new hope, pennsylvania, usa. Basically, it's a tourist railroad that gives visitors the experience of riding in an old fashioned train. You take a short trip out (too short in my opinion) and a short trip back to the station. Since i wanted clean sound, my wife decided to surprise me by paying for the private seats on the very back (outside) of the train. Think of old pictures of presidents waving from the rear of a moving train. . . That place!. So, with zoomh4n pro in hand, i recorded the entire trip from station to station. There's lots of good, old fashioned, clickity-clackity track in this one. A rarity these days as most tracks are now put down with out breaks for miles at a time. Enjoy!. Christopher.

11/29/2018 - burbank, california. Rain, flooding, and mudslides come to california when a sudden storm hit today. Most people got off the freeways quickly and tried to protect their homes from water damage. This recording was recorded with a zoomh4npro (2018) set at 120 degree field-pattern mode. The zoom was placed on a tripod facing out a 3rd floor window into a dead-end alleyway below. This recording is great atmospheric sound. The water can be heard trickling off spanish tile rooftops and dripping from overflowing terracotta pots. From the passing cars on a distant highway, to the occasional cough of a homeless gentleman walking on the street below, this recording is genuine and clean. Imagine adding that sound of a metal garbage can and a shrieking cat in the night! a sound that's great for sleeping or portraying a dark alley in gotham!. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.

I took a quick 8-second drum loop from my teenage engineering po-33 (ko) and ran it through a free time-stretching/pitch-shifting program called akaizer. This program is based on old samplers like the akai s1000 that had extremely artifact-heavy time-stretching and pitch-shifting features. If you slow a sound down enough, the final product tends to sound harsh and electric. Akaizer turned my 8-second drum loop into 2 minutes and 38 seconds of harsh, bassy noise, pretty damn close to the final. Enjoy :).

The sound of an ice maker on a water cooler doing a few cycles. My amazing aunt harriet amazes again by sending me this sound of her ice maker. She taped her old iphone to the inside of the door on her new water cooler/ice maker combo, and let the ice maker run for a few cycles. She even typed up a description of what it does for me so i could post this here on freesound:the water is pumped from a reservoir underneeth the ice tray into a tray above that houses 9 pegs. The water is then cooled to freezing, while the 9 pegs are simultaneously cooled to hold the ice in place. More water is then pumped into the tray to thicken each piece of ice. After a few minutes, excess water is dumped back into the reservoir and ice falls from the pegs into the ice tray. The process then repeats. Enjoy and use however you like!.

This is one of those sound effects you kind of go "huh?" about when you hear. Let me explain what this is and how i imagine it being used. To me, it sounded like a good sound effect for when a computer (whether in a game or animation or whatever) screen starts writing down text (in other words, when a message is displayed on a screen and is written down one letter at a time until the complete message is shown). There are two versions here. The first one fades out (to be used a single time), and the second one is loopable (so you can loop it to make it last longer). Okay, i'm done with the long boring description. I hope you enjoy this weird, different type of sound effect :). P. S.
