Heard this escalator in an older train station while traveling through belgium and thought this could help someone in their sound design pursuits. Recorded on the fly using an iphone 11.

This is like the other file almost the same name, it is the same silly announcement that warns you about the end of an escalator or conveyor and is used in asda. This version as rather more background noise suppression, with the usual trade-off! choose your weapon between the two files that i have uploaded! enjoy!.

Recorded with a zoom h4n onboard microphones, spur of the moment kind of thing. No checking for an optimal recording position, or levels. I just switched it on, opened the window fully and started recording. The batteries were running on empty so i quickly caught as much as i could.

Okay, i actually did make a rather horrorific sound, despite my slight dislike for the horror genre. I know. I contradict myself. Anyhow, this is actually the sound of me going up an escalator while i was at a conference. I came home later and didn't know what to do with the sound, so, out of boredom, i made this. By the way, that weird shriek at 1'46" was actually a young child who was running around somewhere in the building. This sound could be used for *contradiction!!* an atmosphere for a horror game or something like that. But don't try to make me play it, because i won't! okay, well maybe. Mangled with ableton live.
