There was some sort of running event going on, so you can hear the footsteps of lots of runners and the crowds cheering them on. An ice storm moves in to the deep woods of north carolina on 01/30/2014. As the small particles of ice and sleet fall through the pine trees, they land on a bed of pine straw on the ground below. Record of the walk and start of the car. On the recording you can hear footsteps on the rocky ground. Opening the car and then putting the key to the ignition and starting the car. Door to stairwell opens and closes and someone walks up two sets of stairs, the first one slighty faster than the second. Then another door is opened and the walker enters an office where music is playing very softly and there's a bit of an office din. The office portion can also sound like entering a hotel lobby or outer waiting area of a symphony orchestra concert. The stairwell is concrete and metal. It's very echo-y. This clip is a short walk from a walking path heading out to shollenberger wetlands in petaluma, ca. The path is a short diversion into a small wooded area leading to a creek that was rushing pretty heavily due to a recent rainfall. There is a small waterfall making rushing sounds in the creek where the recording ends. The person steps on a log, and breaks a twig on the way to the water's edge.

There are long dirt roads around the area, it's a big open place, so whatever wind, breeze comes barely anything could block it. That's why sometimes the recording's quality gets bad at places. A field recording i made in bruges, december 2013. While i was walking around the chapel at the béguinage, a nun started singing and practising the organ. It sounded beautiful but also quite spooky and ethereal. I'm afraid it's not the best quality as i had to improvise with the voice memo feature on my iphone. The recording has distant singing and other ambient noises, such as footsteps and whispering. The organ kicks in at 02:29. Please let me know if you make use of this.

This is an ambient recording of the late night crowd of kids at 14th street unions square nyc. It's where the market usually is during the day. There is some traffic present but it's mostly about the voices and energy of teens. You can hear the clack and roll of skate boards, voices and gritty near by footsteps. The file contains walla quality voices and up close stuff that you can understand. It is a tad left heavy so you may have to adjust if you are using it for stereo.

Going outside to check the mail. I go out the inner door and close it, you can hear the weather stripping dragging the floor, then go out the outer door onto the porch. I go over and check the neighbor's mail to take up to her later, then check our own, then go back into the apartment where you can hear the tv. Recording of a door being opened and closed, and then opened and closed again. Very slight footsteps (on carpet) can be heard. The microphone (sennheiser mkh-50) was intentionally placed about 5 feet away from the door so as to capture some of the natural room sound/reverb (which is very subtle). I have another recording available of the exact same door and mic setup, but aimed slightly off-axis to capture just a bit more room sound. Recorded into a tascam 208i audio interface and into adobe audition. Very minor processing (low-cut at 80hz to remove low-freq rumble).
