Historically significant 1911 recording by duo Arthur Collins and Byron G. Harlan of "Alexander's Ragtime Band" (1911), originally composed by Irving Berlin. Recorded for Victor Records (#16908-B), this particular comedic duet of the song became a smash hit due to its farcical emphasis.

Location: charlotte douglas international airporttime: april 2015. A strong storm hit charlotte, north carolina, and flights got delayed or canceled. The gates got crowded and people were restless. Lots of airline announcements, people talking on their cell phones, airport electric cart beeps, voices in english and a few words here and there in spanish, etc. Don't remember if this was recorded using the zoom h1 or h5 with the xyh-5 x/y microphone capsule.

This sound was created by mistake and i thought it sound perfectly like a bad transmission from radio or spacestation. I´ve cut the audiofile so it is loopable. Tr606+tr808+cr78+casio mt-36+fx+editspart of an experiment with recordings of three of my favourite analogue drum-machines and a keyboard with amazing drum sounds, intended to create the ultimate combination of all four. This is an experiment. This is work in progress. I won't settle on one ultimate sound -- i will upload several best versions of each drum hit gradually as i fiddle with them. Also expect the rest of the kit soon :).

I was recording wind that blows in my window, but the zoom h2 placed on a (cheap) mic stand after some time started to bend itself downwards. It hit the curtain/drape in my window and rubbed itself against it until reached the lowest position - the mic stands arm stopped gently as it started. This produced a very interesting sound that i totally didn't expect to find on the recording. Edited with audacity.

While fooling around with the beat repeat plugin in ableton one day, i noticed it would do this cool rhythmic decrescendo whenever i would hit "repeat". But not when i would export! so i just kept messing around with a simple hi-hat loop with audacity running in the background. I've cut down and sampled this recording many times, think it's time i let it go to see what the internet can do with it ;).

To bring the chorus for example. Made with : white noise filtered, drum layering, big plate reverb. . . I use it all the time hehe. Tip : it was not very processed in order to make your own process like sidechain on reverb tail, envelope. . . . Etc.

This first one in the pack is the loudest hit. The samples in this thunder pack are all 24-bit, and i recorded not directly as output from my mixer but routed it first through software compression and saturation and this first one was so loud it normalized itself during recording. None of the other samples are 'normal'. Notice my neighbor's car alarm going off the thunder was so loud. It's not loud in the mix.

A part of my samplepack called "metal collisions 1". - recorded with my huawei smartphone (cannot remember what model). - recorded inside a barn, with concrete flooring. I was movingsome scrap metal out of the building and decided to record these piecesof scrap while i were at it. - completely free! feel free to credit me ifyou use them though, even though that's completely optional on your part.

A sound composed from bunching wet paper towels smacked against the floor and a wet bottle of liquid being sloshed mixed together to create an impact sound. Creates a horrible sensation of flesh impacted by a powerful shockwave. A bottle with liquid being sloshed around gently can provide the needed element of a subdued liquid sound - taking away the need to filter it with low pass filters (but it can help boost other frequencies).

Some raw one-shots from my doepfer a-100 modular synthesizer recorded and edited using ni maschine. In my ears they sound way better with a bit of compression, but i thought the unprocessed files would be more useful. Naming is super vague. Recorded back in may 2014. By the way, this morning, i purchased a very interesting book entitled "harmonograph: a visual guide to the mathematics of music" by anthony ashton. A classic movie punch sound recreated by hitting a leather car seat with a cricket bat. Recorded using a rode k2 tube mic and a schoeps cmc6, driving the preamps hard and compressing the input, then heavily compressing a number of takes using analog-emulation plugins (including a fairchild 660) and running the mix through waves maxxbass. Then limiting some more and finally adding the swoosh of a riding crop and a non-linear reverb noise tail.

A recording of anything i could do with two empty 1,5 l plastic bottles. A lot of sounds you can squeeze from a plastic bottles. Just no sounds of opening and closing a s i didn't have the caps. This sound is a pitched down recording of a metal knife striking the prongs of a metal fork. I added some reverb and adjusted the eq to make it sound like distant swords striking each other. This was used to simulate the ambient sounds of cutlasses in a pirate battle. In addition to clashing swords, this track could be adjusted to mimic the sounds of a blacksmith working at his anvil or flint and steel in lighting a fire, among other sound effects.

File i recorded while at work on a telephone pole. I found a span of the steel cable they string between the poles that hold phone lines or cable lines. But this was just the bare span and nothing touching it. If you hit them with a wrench they make weird laser gun sounds. Recorded with my phone and cleaned up a bit in audacity. Use as you please. My mother in the kitchen just around the corner from my closed bedroom door getting some ice from a square ice bucket in the freezer which is right at the entrance to the kitchen. You can hear them drop into her big glass and pop when they hit the water. I was recording out the window at the time. You can hear an american robin, red cardenal and mourning dove as well.
