144 Royalty-Free Audio Tracks for "Honking"

One of several recordings made on a walk around manhattan in june 2022. This is the junction of houston st with broadway (if i remember correctly). A lot of traffic and honking of horns.

Since no one asked for it, here it is: the unfamous clown horn used throughout the history of gimp revival. Use it in projects that will get much more attention than ours ever will.

This is still a bit rough as there's some noise/hum in the background, but i figured it could be useful to someone. Recorded 05/10/18.

This recording was done as a class exercise. You can hear people talking, dogs barking, some birds and insect sounds along with general street sounds such as cars passing by, honking, motorcycles, machinery humming, etc.

New year eve's, the clock strikes 12am janurary 1, 2012; hollywood, california. There are a few edits in this recording because of wind noise. Watch out for a loud air horn at around 2:00.

Early morning rain heard inside of a car in a busy parking lot. Sounds of people walking past, car doors opening and closing, cars pulling in and out, distant traffic on the surrounding roads going by including cars, trucks and busses. Occasional honks. Occasional audible talk-radio in a car parked near by.

On the last day of 2010, a taxi driver was struggling to move forward on the icy slippery road with his regular tires. Kyoto city had heavy snow fall on that day, and no cars wore special tires for winter. Since the taxi wouldn't start, the following car couldn't help honking. This is a foghorn-like sound that i created using an accidentally recorded poot from a friend. I stretched the sound bite a few times while lowering the pitch, added a couple different reverb effects, and then finished it with some parametric eq, raising the bass, and using a low pass filter to cut out the high frequencies. If you would like the original poot sound, i have also uploaded it as fart sound 1.

This is the same sound i recorded 6 years ago, back than i had just a very crappy microphone through my cellphone. Last year i bought an ipad, and i installed hokusai audio editor. This gave me a better way to record in higher quality. Still mono though, but it has less audio artifacts. This alarm is tested once every 3 months all over the swedish towns.

I mounted the mic inside and on top of the car and drove trough the city, recording some ambulance, traffic, and a scooter that was tooting, later i turned of engine, opened and closed the car door and startet the engine, maybe you find it useful, let me know :). I used the equipment described in my profile.

I recorded this for an animated sequence i was doing that involved a bucket truck. I recorded a truck parked in a garage starting its motor, pulling out of the building, driving back into the building, stopping, hitting the air brakes and idling, backing up with backing beeps, idling again, and then honking its horn while pulling back out of the building. The truck circles the building again, pulls back in, hits the air brakes one more time and then cuts the motor.

About 2. 5 minutes of ambient audio recorded at the hurunui jacks campground adjacent to the kaniere river near hokitika on the west coast of new zealand. This is an inland tropical rain-forest setting. There are lots of insect sounds, birds, and the sound of the river (not very prominent) in the background. No other sounds captured (no cars, airplanes, honking horns, people talking, etc). Would be good to use for a camp scene ambient in a similar location, nature scene, etc. Recorded with a zoom h1.

This sound is modeled after the inception movie's large horn blast. It is a low multi-voiced saw wave with a specific ring modulation setting to give it it's effect. This sound is rendered as a 44100 sample rate 16 bit wav file. Made with native instrument's massive inside ableton live 9.

All spoken word sounds as well as specific things like laughs or animal sounds are in different sounds. They range from real sounds like cowbells and car horns to blings and ascending synth sounding noises for a correct answer.
