This caught my attention as an unfamiliar sound, and i actually had to investigate to learn what it was. It was the raindrops hitting some styrofoam bodyboards near a swimming pool, which at times sounded almost more like a hollow "pop" than a "drip. ". I was actually hunting for sounds that i could use for a "chain lightning" sound, but ended up making a short drone that i made from a ground hum.

The sound of a long backlight turned on, and amplified by about 40 decibels (with noise reduction to reduce interference). Makes a good drone pad.
