The sounds of solway's scrap yard on toronto's ernest avenue. It is an old industrial neighbourhood, rapidly gentrifying. The gentrifiers resent the scrapyard, but it was there first. You can hear the sounds of a mobile crane on caterpillar tracks dumping scrap into semi-trailers which will soon pull out for the steel mills of hamilton. As the trucks are loaded, the drivers chat in the background. Recorded with a roland r05 and a sennheiser mke 400 stereo mike with home-made wind screen on 30 september 2011.
From the depths of hell, a soul sucking toilet in a small concrete bathroom space. Turns off right at the end when i couldn't bare to be in the space any longer.
Below a bridge/overpass. Cars pass overhead, causing sharp thumping sounds across the stereo field that reverberate through the large concrete space below.
Tweaked an extractor fan in audacity using reverb and other effects to create this clip. Sounds like an submerged submarine propeller a little. Hopefully you'll find an appropriate context for it.
Fenwicks working on wet floor. Reverse gear bips, motors, wire on wet floor, metal creaking, loading. France, 2007. Recorded with schoeps ab ortfrecorded on tascam dap148khz, 16 bits.
A large, industrial-era brick factory building in lawrence, massachusetts is demolished with controlled explosive charges. Recording was made from the other side of a large parking lot.
Made this using an echo. Sounds like something from eraserhead. Tweaked around the knobs and settings throughout so theres quite a bit of different noises in this sample. Use it however you like.
A short moog sample with a science fiction sound. Would make a great backing driving sound for some kind of 80's sci fi movie soundtrack, ala john carpenter.
Fortunately i don't live nearby, but not far from home there is a factory that manufactures motorhomes, that's the atmosphere, made of machines, hammer noise blowers and all kinds of activity.
Ambience recorded at a dry river channel in suburban monterrey, mexico with the constant drone of a factory nearby (with clicking and vapor hisses once in a while). Crickets, a little stream and distant traffic.
A burst of steam. Sound of a pressure cooker manipulated to sound like a short burst. Source audio: 1243_pressure_cooker. Wav (reinsamba). Thanks for downloading and comments.
The assorted sounds of a recycling center warehouse. Recorded nearest the can sorter, where the aluminum and steel containers are tumbled. Also background hum from blowers and the forklift, which beeps as it backs.
Really stupid, rolling drums made with a vst called minimal. From my track "horribly minimal". (http://www. Esnips. Com/doc/5cd159a7-8627-4423-bb92-30ba6f002ab9/horribley-minimal).
The repercussions of hitting a metal pole with a small metal gate, at the bottom of a 10 story stairwell. Causes the gate to rattle and shake. Recorded with an iphone 6.
An electric air compressor running. Recorded with sennheiser mkh 60 connected to an zoom h6. Miked 5 meters from source to get some of the natural reverb.
Recorded in stereo from inside a plastic watering pot with zoom q8. Pitched down. The toaster is touching the pot, so it can deliver vibrations after the "pop-up mechanism".
An atmos recorded in a forest with the distant soung of a chainsaw and a bulldozer. Thanks to my zoom h4n. "when you use this sound, it would be nice if you spent a voluntarily donation to freesound. "https://freesound. Org/donations/donate/.
Sound of deformation of a metal shelf. Sounds like a spring. I use all the sounds in the music of my band electric indians, pre-transforming, so i pass the baton to the next one =).
